Question about Systemax Venture PC Desktop

1 Answer

My computer, monitor and keyboard just die on me. The printer and mouse stay on. Sometimes there is no problem for a week. At other times it will do it 5 times in 15 minutes. When I restart the computer there is nothing to indicate it was shut down improperly. So far it has only happened when I've been on the internet.

Hello,

there is virus on your computer, that's why it shuts down intermittently. Install an anti-virus your computer and the virus causing the problem should be detected.

I would recommend Avira-anti virus. Visist www.avira.com and download the free avira antivirus version. The run a scan and the virus should be detected.

Good luck.

try and pull your add-on cards and reinstall them as well as your memory. make sure that the little switch on the PSU is set to 115v. The clicking sounds like the hard drive, but if you're not getting any error or picture then i don't think that's the case. blow the computer out with compress air, open up the pc and try and start it and make sure that all the fans are spinning.

WF1907 Monitor is in sleep mode - how can i get it to stay on?

If understand your issue correctly , your system and monitor is fine . The only problem is that the monitor switches off after some time.

If after moving the mouse or taping on the keyboard the monitor comes back . Then we can solve the problem buy adjusting the power settings in the OS .

If the monitor doesn't come back on if you strike the keyboard or click the mouse. Then the problem could be with the monitor.

Depending on the OS you have you can disable sleep by going to the following link

My wireless mouse takes battries with short

hi,
I've got a Microsoft wireless Intellimouse and the batteries in that last for months - and it's on all the time. My wife bought a no-name mini wireless mouse and found the batteries last a couple of weeks.

The difference? My mouse takes two AA batteries, hers takes one AAA. So if you change mice(?) look for one that takes two AA batteries and stay away from any that don't.

Monitor Goes black, or flickers on and off

The high pitch sound is coming from the inverter. It is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, this lamp gives the backlight to the LCD so you can see the LCD images.

Look at your power saving settings. It appears you have your computer monitor to go to sleep. I would change it to never sleep

Computer remains in sleep mode to conserve electricity

This is a known issue in Vista. Computers going into hibernation and then not waking up. I believe it was fixed with the Service Pack 1 distribution, but I'm not 100% certain.
I would recommend that you go into the power options from the control panel and disable hibernation. You can tell the computer to turn off the monitor and the hard drive after a period of time, but just don't leave hibernation enabled.

PC stays in Sleep Mode and Keyboard and Mouse doesn't work

Well that's kind of a loaded question.
There is several things that can cause this to happen.
1. The CPU died because the cpu fan just died and burnt it out.
2. The Ram is bad which I doubt.
3. Somthing happend and burnt out the motherboard sometimes we get insects that climb inside our computer and go onto things and alot of stuff in the computer that can be grounded by a bug or whatever and burn out our computer I've had it happen before.
The monitor is fine it's just blinking because it's not getting a signal from the P.C.
You can try to unplug the PC and plug it back in and try again or even check in the back on the power supply there is a I/O switch make sure it's on.

You can start by uninstalling the program you installed before this started happening. You can also do system restore which you'll find in start>accessories>system tools.
If nogo, try disconnecting devices on the back of the computer except the keyboard, mouse, monitor and power. Turn the computer on without them. If the issue disappeared, reconnect what you unplugged one at a time until you find the culprit.
