Sounds like youve got the Realtek soundcard software. You have got the sound effects which are built into the software turned on. You should see the Realtek sound manager icon in the bottom right taskbar just right click on that and go through all the options making sure no effects are enabled. Also right click the speaker icon then recording devices and go through all the settings there as sometimes there is also a box needed to check to disable sound effects even though it says none in the Realtek manager. Cheers from Scott and please dont forget to vote

Peavey DPC1400x turns on, plays sound for a split second, buzzes, then goes silent. All lights show green though. What could this be?

This sounds like a power supply capacitor leaking causing a dc bias problem and amp protection shuts it down.

My sound is real funny like chipmunk sounds

If the pitch of the sound being played by your computer speakers has changed dramatically or songs and videos are playing faster or slower than they typically should be, the problem is with the sound speed on your computer. This could mean a hardware issue with your speakers or sound card or a software issue with the program that you're using to play a digital media file.

Double-check your speaker connections. If one of the audio cables that runs off of your speakers isn't plugged correctly into your computer, this could cause the audio coming from them to speed up or slow down. Make sure all cables are properly connected to their proper inputs and try to play your audio again. Update the driver for your computer's sound card. Go to the website of the company that made your sound card and look for your unit's product page. Under the "Support" section, click on the download link for the latest device driver. Once the file is on your computer, double-click on it to install it. Then restart your computer and try to play your audio again. Make sure you haven't accidentally sped up or slowed down the media file you are trying to play. Many digital media programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player have features that allow you to play a song or video in slow or fast motion. If this becomes accidentally selected, the audio will also be in slow or fast motion. Click "Stop" to stop your media file from playing and then click "Play" again to allow it to play normally. Restart your computer. This will free up system memory when your computer restarts. If your sound was playing too slow or too fast due to an error with not having enough memory to play properly, that error will now be fixed and your sound should return to normal speed. Hope this helps.

Slow sound on window xp

Change playback speed in Windows Media Player

Begin playing a file.

Click the arrow below the Now Playing tab, point to Enhancements, and then click Play Speed Settings.

Move the Play Speed slider to the speed at which you want to play the content, or click the Slow, Normal, or Fast link.

To select speeds between the labeled play speeds, in the Enhancements pane, clear the Snap slider to common speeds check box.

To hide the settings, click the Close button in the Enhancements pane.

hope this helps

GE JVM1430 over the range microwave/exhaust fan unit. The exhaust fan (not the microwave cooling fan) all of a sudden has its speed slowed down considerably. The unit vents out the back, not top. ...

Sounds like a strip down of the fan and lubricate the bearings with sewing machine or thin cycle oil will do the trick.
Hope that helps.

My Sony PS-LX250H is all of the sudden playing too slow with a 33

Not sure what made it happen all of a sudden, but you might want to check out Mocamom1 's question related to PS-LX250H speed & the attached solutions. You may just need to adjust the SW screw on the underside of the unit (worked for mine that was playing everything at 35 1/4!)

My speakers sound like the sound is playing underwater

It's probably just a playback setting but, take it back anyway. Let them see if they can make it right. If not, the repair's at their cost.

My sound is all slow and warbled when I play itunes, tv shows, dv

this case generally you may consider:
1) check your ram, clean the ram and slot, or change new ram
2) check your internet speed, cause sound slow if the speed down too much, or there are more than one conputer using your router at the same time
3) virus attact maybe damage your system files cause sound problem

It sounds like you have some wireing problems. You might check that out and also try adjusting the bass and treable.
