Question about Lands Phones
Can you have two telephone mastersockets coming off one Telephone cable?
BT have recently replaced the cable from the pole to the house. Its connected to the old cable via a ''wee box'' which sits under the kitchen window. Hubby's just signed up for the Sky+ HD self installation and we now need a telephone connection. Just put wooden floors down everywhere so don't want to have cables lying around. Was going to connect a second mastersocket to the ''wee box'' outside the house and run the cable round the outside of the house but don't know if you can have two of these mastersockets on the same line.
First things first.
You want to drag the phone line around for the Sky+ HD connection?
Unless you use Sky Box office or other Sky online services you don't need to hook a telephone cable up to ANY Sky set top boxes.
The telephone cable is a means for Sky to monitor your box position and monitor your viewing choices.
If however you do use Sky's online services you "can" connect another line to you main line. Just make sure you connect the correct coloured cables to the correct pins in your sockets.
For a Sky+ connection you need to coaxial cables coming off your satelite dish. Incase you didn't already know this.
