Question about Toro Lawn Mower With Toro Power Tools
If you are lucky, you have only sheared the flywheel key and messed up the blade. The flywheel key is under the top cover and under the flywheel along an indent in the side of the crankshaft. Those parts would have to be removed to check it....most likely it's sheared (broken) which is what it is supposed to do (most are made of aluminum) when the blade hits an immovable object. It CAN be fixed and there are videos and forum HOW TO's on this subject. A new key is very inexpensive and replacing one is a good learning experience.

Testimonial: "rycgl, I thank you for giving me very accurate advice. I took the flywheel off and sure enough the flywheel key had been sheared off. "
The is a key on the crankshaft that's broken. You have to pull off the flywheel and replace it. It's made to break like that so there is no more damage than the inexpensive woodruff key.
