So ordered new battery have installed that and plugged into wall outlet...still nothing on the screen. could it be that the battery is just not charged enough for the laptop to come on? some lights are lit on the front. I will Like to have a good description of he behavior of the laptop. Please let me know the beep sequence. Is there power indicator on the laptop when connected to AC voltage? Is the noise coming from the hard disk?

Remove the Battery and connect the AC and plug the AC outlet to power and the other end to the Laptop. Power on the laptop.

If the battery is a new one, it should be charged for at least 8 hours before the first use to make it active and to increase its life and capacity.

Thanks -- I thought that might be the case...but it is making the same "sound" that it made before I put in the new battery so just wanted to check and make certain.

I would prefer to charge your battery first before any further check ups. The rest is up to you.

    Thank You.

I replaced my Toshiba Tecra M4 tablet CMOS battery and I am still getting the error why is this and how do I fix it? I cant get passed the CMOS error when I boot the computer.

When you replace the CMOS battery, you must wait about 10 minutes with the old battery removed, before fitting the new one (if you had a problem with the error message before) - when you fit the new battery, plug the tablet in and don't turn it on - this will give the new battery a chance to power up all of the CMOS on the board and settle down. Then turn it on, wait for the error message about the date and time being wrong, set the time correctly and the problem has gone.

Clean dust from tablet pc screen

You have to remove the screw covers (the black squares around the screen), remove the screws and gentley pry the cover open with yor finger nails or a flat head screw driver, but be careful not to dent the sides with the screw driver. You can then take a can of air and blow the dust out. I would not touch the sensetive screen under neath. You could take a anti static, micro fiber cloth to wipe off the tough stuff.
