My notebook makes noises

Hi,

each time I turn on the notebook, it makes lots of noises - something like a key was stuck - before it loads the Windows ME. After the OS is fully loaded, it stops.

Please help.

Thanks!

Bios utility

BIOS Setup utility?

Dell laptop?

Lot of information here.......let me see if I can sift through it.........

Post the model number in a Comment.
The model number can be found on the Bottom of the laptop.

As soon as you turn your laptop on, watch for the Dell logo screen.
WATCH the bottom of the screen.
What key does it state to press, to - enter BIOS Setup?

Write it down.
If Windows loads let it load, and run a few minutes. Then turn the laptop off normally.

THIS time AS SOON AS you press the Power On button, start tapping on that BIOS Setup key.
Tap in 2 second intervals.

You may hear beeps. Those are Stuck Key Error Code beeps, and it is you that is doing it. Ignore them.

This will get you into the BIOS Setup utility.

If Windows doesn't load, press the CTRL key, and ALT key, and DELete key, AT THE SAME TIME.
This will restart your laptop, and start tapping on that enter BIOS Setup key.

Setup is starting services

Hi,

First try to check if you can log to your computer via Safe Mode, if you can then there is a few possible things happened to your computer:
1. Corrupted software installation that is messing up with your startup services.
2. Hardware problem (memory or bad sector in the hard disk)
3. Or Operating system or malware.

Anyway for the step to test if you can log in via Safe mode try the steps below:
Reference: Safemode
Open Safe Mode with the F8 key

All Windows versions can be booted into Safe Mode by this method. Note that it is somewhat tricky to time this procedure and it may take several attempts.

1. Turn on or restart your computer.
2. Hold down the F8 key before the Windows logo appears. If the computer makes a complaining noise, tap the F8 key repeatedly instead of holding it down.
3. If a Windows logo or "Windows starting" appears, wait until Windows loads. Then restart the computer and try pressing F8 again.
4. Once you are successful, a menu will appear with a number of boot options. Use an arrow key to navigate to "Safe Mode" and press the Enter key.

Trying to get to Safe Mode by using the F8 key can be frustrating and there is another way that uses the System Configuration Utility (msconfig).

Best Regards,

My acer laptop is making a continuous loud high pitched siren sound.

Hi,
Is it turning ON? if nothing shows on the screen then the loud noise happens then possible it is something hardware in your system.
If the noise is coming from the speakers and windows loads then that is a speaker issue.
Better check with acer if the laptop is still in warranty for repairs and proper checking.

Hi,
From the looks of it the #1 key is stuck, you need to check it and make sure it is not stuck....

Compressed air can be used on the keyboard to get rid of dirt build-up.
Read your User's Manual to learn if the keys can be removed for cleaning.

Toshiba qosmio E-10 noises keyboard and start up

Sound like you have a stuck key and the bip noise is the keyboard buffer pverloading.
If you can't unstick this key, you need a new keyboard.

Mouse irradic Clicking

Check to make sure that the right hand mouse key is not stuck down. When you press it down, does it feel the same as the Left Hand key? Could be caused by a piece of foreign material underneath/beside the key, or by something sticky getting down around the key. Try to clean the area under and around the key and make sure the key is not binding in the cover. It could be that there is a failure of the key, itself. You might want to try connecting another mouse (most computers have a connection for this), disconnecting the trackpad/mouse that is on the notebook. This should tell you if it is a problem with the trackpad/mouse, or something deeper.
Hope this solves your problem.
