The first thing that you do is
1. go to start menu
2.then select RUN
3. type in the letters CMD
4. type in MSCONFIG onto the black screen that just came up
5. select Yes you would like to run this program
6. then select the the tab startup or Services(i cant remember which one)
7. then click on your program select disable

If you are using the cd that comes with the router, that is the problem. You do not have to use the cd. Go to the control panel and un-install the program that the cd installed. then:
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.
