HP B209 a-m scanning problem

I have a puzzling scanning problem with my HP Photosmart Plus B209-a-m printer/scanner. I sometimes have occasion to scan both sides of postcards. I place the card in the corner of the glass as shown by the symbol. When I scan the front of the card with pictures on it and send it to the computer, the image I end up with fills screen – which is what I want. When I turn the card over and scan the side with handwriting on it and send it to the computer, the image I end up with is mostly white space with the card as a smaller image in the corner. I have read through the manual and fiddled with the help info on the printer itself but found nothing to help the problem. What do I have to do to always get a full screen image when I scan postcards? Thank you.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: My scanner always scans with blurry lines across scanned images from it

Hi,

I believe that you are trying to scan via HP solution center.
Did u tried scanning from Scanners and Cameras in control panel, and did u notice any lines?

If u get the same lines, we have to remove the USB Composite device and imaging device drivers.

1.Right click on MY computer ->Properties->Hardware->Device manager.

2.You will get Device manager window popping out.

3.Check for Imaging Devices, click on + sign, then u will see "hp photosmart c3100" right click on it and click Uninstall. Then, Scroll down to "Universal Serial BUS controllers".Click on the (+) sign.

4.Check for the "USB Composite Device" and right click on it, click Uninstall.(IMPORTANT NOTE:wE HAVE TO UNINSTALL THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, TO KNOW WHETHER IS THE PRINTER'S USB COMPOSITE DEVICE, RIGHT CLICK ON USB COMPOSITE DEVICE AND PROPERTIES,look for wat location says, Eg -LOCATION : HO DESKJET F300)

5.Disconnect the USB and reboot the PC.

6.Connect the USB after reboot, you will get popup "Found new hardware".Then the Drivers will be installed Automatically.

7.Try scanning. Please let me know after following the steps!

SOURCE: I have a HP photosmart

I get this every now and then, usually because, during a scan, I abort for some reason--reset the computer, force-quit, whatever.  The printer driver, I think, leaves some breadcrumbs that it can't recover from when it runs again.
Anyway, I reset the printing system and install the latest HP driver.  If that doesn't work, I delete the HP folder in the Applications folder; then remove whatever files I can find in the /Library folder such as Application Support/Hewlett-Packard, Application Support/HP, any HP file in Preferences, Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/HPScanPro.ds.
Then reinstall the driver and things work fine.  I'm thinking this last item, the HPScanPro.ds in the TWAIN folder might be the culprit but I haven't tried just remove it alone--after I remove everything things work so I can't "try it again"...and don't want to!  =)
Anyway, I've had success with this method.  Good luck!

SOURCE: HP photosmart C5580 How scan to computer?

scanning through bluetooth is not possible bluetooth module only pairs the computer and printer and has link only to the basic driver of the computer so you can only print from it
if you want to scan you should connect te usb cable or use a wireless upgrade kit

How do I set photosmart B209 to enlarge copies?

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01796502.pdf
Pg 57 Item c, where is says touch size, instead of fit to page, you should have other options to increase or decrease the size.
Another option it to scan the item to the computer then print and enlarge during the print process

I just brought a new HP Photosmart B209 and as long as it is hooked up to the usb port it is fine but as soon as i disconnect it from the usb it says it is offline. how can i get it to stay connected to...

I suggest that you turn off the printer power, then unhook from usb. That disconnect from usb can sometimes scramble the printer driver and control firmware, and require a reinstallation. Also, plug the printer directly into a wall socket, especially for scanning.
