Eureka Atlantis 2591A Extractor - Won't spray

I just got a Eureka Atlantis extractor model 2591A and for some reason it no longer sprays when I press the spray button during carpet cleaning. Nothing comes out. It worked fine when I used it a week ago. I followed all of the suggestions in the troubleshooting section of the owner's manual and no luck. All the tanks are securely in place, the clean water tank is to the fill line, the detergent tank is as well, and the recovery tank is empty. I didn't see any debris or obstructions in the carpet nozzle or in the tank compartments. The suction into the carpet nozzle doesn't seem that great either but I have nothing to compare it to because I didn't check the suction last time since the machine worked fine. I should note that when I used the machine last week, the last thing I did was use the upholstery attachment and of course disconnected it and closed the "hose attachment" lid before trying to clean the carpets today. I just mention that because the carpet cleaning function (i.e. spray) was working fine before I used the upholstery attachment and now it does not. Any ideas as to why it will not spray??

Hard to say without seeing it, is there a function type knob that you would switch from carpet to hose? Did the hose attachment lid close ok? Other then take, if this is new, it has a years warranty on it, just take it to a waranty shop for repair.

is the spray pump making a noise? if so, clean spray jets with a lime/calcium remover like "clr."
If the pump isn't making noise, try the rest fuse button.
If that's not it, your pump motor or solenoid is toast.

No suction or spray - Eureka Atlantis Steam Cleaner

I got the machine working. I think because it hadn't been used for awhile that the seals were dried out. I wet them and let it sit for awhile and then I could push the containers all the way in and seated them properly. Then it started working no problem and I got to clean my carpets.

if it drips out while the tank is off the machine it couldbe the spring load mechanism in the cap. try soaking it in hot water for a few minutes to swell the rubber then with a pen push the spring plate up and down to lubricate the rubber. then try and see if that works. usually they are gravity fed systems but only works when the tank is in the unit.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Unfortunately this is a hard item to find so I would advise you to contact the Eureka Factory customer service at the phone number listed below and they should be able to direct you to a dealer that sells the part or they can sell it to you as well.

Leaking Carper Shampooer

I have an Eureka Atlantis Deep Steam Extractor and it does the same thing. It's not new but it hasn't been used much.

The manual says to "push the tank in until it snaps into place". Everything looks fine across the board so I believe this particular model is just a bad design overall.

My recomendation: Get a new carpet cleaner from Target or Wal-Mart.

Please let me know if this helps. Good luck!

I have an Eureka Atlantis Deep Steam Extractor and it does the same thing. It's not new but it hasn't been used much. The only thing the booksays is to put the tank in until it snaps into place. (Like we didn'ttry that.) Apparently it's a bad design. The seal on mine looks fine.

If I was doing the floor I'd just keep going but I'm trying to do my couches and I don't need a huge puddle on the floor.
