Hello,

I believe there is virus on your recorder.

Use a good anti virus to scan the recorder and delete the virus.

If the problem continues it means you will format the recorder and your files will be lost.

Thanks for contact Fixya.

Hello,

If your recorder was unable to detect a memory storage device plugged or connected into it there is a big chance that the memory media device might have encountered data corruption and formatting the memory card should fix it. The risk is everything will be deleted if you format the memory card. So if you can transfer the recorded files from your memory card to a different storage device in the meantime or to your computer perhaps, I stronglly suggest you do that before formatting. if formatting won't work, well it was the memory card failing and might need replacement. Hope this helps..

Take care!

I don't think there is a memory card since it's digital?? There is no slot for one, only USB port.

If it doesn't have a memory card there should be a memory storage for that device to store the data. Might as well have all the contents transferred into your computer and reset you recorder to the factory defaults. I'm not sure how to do that since the model and make of your recorder was not specified. The "insert card" error you are getting must be pertaining about a memory storage it was unable to access. So have it restored to the defaults or formatted instead if you have that option.

Hello.

I suspect that either the card or card reader (in your device) is faulty.

If you know of someone with a similar handheld device, place your card in that device to see if you can play the recording.

Also, if you have another card, place it in the device to see if the card reader is OK.

Hope this helps.

It's a digital recorder so I don't believe there is a card? There is no slot for a crd, only a USB port that slides out.

  • NinaE Jul 15, 2010

Oh ... sorry. It does have 2 GB of storage. Thought it was removable.

Try it on another computer to see if the same problem. If so, your device is faulty and your files are probably lost. If it's still under warranty (1 year warranty), return it for a repair or replacement.

    Hello, again.

Has anyone else been able to help ? I know how important those files are. But, there may not be a satisfactory solution. If you have connected your recorder to another computer with the same result, you'll need to replace the recorder.

    No luck. Thanks.

I miss a few words...how do I back it up to get to that spot. When I try it...it goes all the way to the beginning. Very frustrating. Thank You.

Hello I think what you want is to over record on a top of the previous dictation, but this recorder does not work that way example: let say that you are counting 12345678910 and you want to correct and add ACBD between 5 6 to listen back 12345ABCD678910. This recorder don't work that way, the only feature that this unit have is add or insert to the end, on the file that you are listen. During playback press REC for more than 1 second the record indicator appears and "ADD" will flash for 3 seconds in the display window the indicator will turn red and the new recording will be added at the end to the current message.

I really recommend if you want to used a Digital Recorder like the old style analog recorder with a slide switch this unit is really easy to operate and all the features that anyone needs, I think the price is not bad, is really a professional digital recorder http://www.tvps.com/Products/Philips-9380-Pocket-Memo-Digital-Recorder---New-LFH-9380__PH-LFH-9380.aspx

The hard drive for the recorder is bad. That's why nothing plays during playback. The DVR can't get the video off the hard drive. You'll need to send the recorder in to be repaired and the hard drive replaced.

Select AV-1 or some thing in TV and plug DVD recorder Video-Audio output in AV-1 input of TV, playback any DVD and confirm its picture and sound in TV. Press Stop button of DVD recorder to stop playback.
Now plug Video-Audio output of VCR in DVD recorder input and select AV Input in DVD recorder, insert VHS tape in VCR and playback it and confirm you get VHS picture and sound in TV via DVD recorder.
Hookup between TV, DVD recorder and VCR is completed.
Playback VHS tape in VCR, Insert blank DVD disc in DVD recorder and press Record while you see VHS tape picture in TV.
Hope this info will help you.

Cannot operate svr-925 digital recorder, need manual

How to Record:
1. Make sure HOLD switch (on side of unit with pocket clip) is set to off position (slide to right is off - to left would be hold)
2. For best results set unit with mic(rophone) which is on top of unit toward sound source and press REC/STOP button (Top button on front of unit just below LCD display). Recording will begin and will be indicated on LCD display.
> Red Record LED will be on and the message number, recording time will be displayed on the LCD.
3. To stop recording, press REC/STOP button one time.
* If no other buttons are pressed within 1 minute at stop position, it will power off automatically.
4. Pause during recording by simply pressing MODE/PAUSE button- press button again to resume.

There is a Voice Operated System (VOS) Recording button on left side also. You can record with voice activation to conserve recording space but I have found that you lose a portion of the recorded sound as it activates and if there is no sound for a very few minutes the unit powers off and you will get nothing further recorded. I recomend just keeping VOS in off position.

5. To erase a recording: Select the message number you want to erase and while it is stopped (the message number will appear in LCD with the length of recording showing also)
Press and hold the ERASE button until the LCD begins blinking "ERASE" then, while it's blinking simply press the erase button again and the recording will be erased.

6. To play back a recorded message find your message by "toggling" the switch on the right side of the unit that says INDEX. That switch is the fast forward/reverse play etc. To Play simply push the switch in. This button/switch takes a little practice to use but the Play portion is straight forward. Use the front buttons to pause and stop during playback.

Hope this helps.

Dvd recorder formatting problem

#1
Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine

welcome

Olympus DS30 voice recorder play speed issue

Hi, the solution to the problem seems to be the following. When u press play, once, you get 1x play. If whilst playing you press play a second time the DS-30 goes into slow play mode, and if you press a second time it goes into fast mode. For those of us who accidentally went into either fast or slow mode, just press the play button again, during playback, until "play" appears on the LCD screen. Apparently it is as simple as that.
