The "C" stands for "capacitor" and the "P" stands for power. so look on the power/deflection pcb that is on the left as you look at from the rear.

How do I replace the CP150 on an RCA D5219 52inch rear projection?

You must know how to Solder, you will have to unsolder the capacitor and resolder in the New one
you also need to replace 3 capacitors CP150 CP114 CP120 they are all in the Same Circuit.
They are on the deflection Board which is the Bottom lefthand side and will have the FBT flyback Transfomer.

I am getting three flashes and then the tv goes off.

Remove the back panel from the television, you will see a board where the input jacks are located. To the left you will notice a red power wire. Just up and to the right approx 7" or so you will see a [_] shaped metal shield surrounding a capacitor in the middle of it. The part # on the board is CP150. It is a green/gold 16v 2200uF capacitor. More than likely this capacitor is faulty. Run your finger over the top of the capacitor, if it is beveled rather than smooth you have a definite solution to your problem. You may need to remove the plastic piece that covers the transformer to the left of the capacitor to gain easy access.

Can anyone explain the step-by-step replacement of CP150 capacitor?

The cp150 is located on the deflection board.( far right side circuit board) You will have to remove the deflection board and unsolder the old CP150 and then resolder in the new CP150. Observe polarity. Also should repalce CP114 and CP120 with the CP150. You can get that repair kit at www.tvrepairworld.com which has the three capacitors, and the CD with detailed instructions with photos. The CD also contains the service manual and other service information.

There is a capacitor on that board(cp150) that is very common to go bad. The top of it blows up so it is easily identifiable. Unfortunately, you can't see it from your viewpoint because it is located behind a heatsink toward the front of the board. I would bet that is what is wrong with your set.

Remove the back panel from the tv where the input jacks are located. You will see a red power wire. Just above that and to the right approx. 7" or so you will notice a [_] shaped metal shield surrounding a cgreen/gold capacitor. You may need to remove the plastic cover that is located directly above it about 6-7" in length to gain easy access. Run your finger over the top of the capacitor. If it is beveled rather than smooth you have found a definite solution to your problem. The part number located on the board is CP150 16v 2200uF capacitor. It will look like a tall cylinder. Good luck!!
