Question about Stoves 720EF Electric Double Oven
Posted by Anonymous on
In my case the fault was due to the large electrolytic capacitor on the circuit board, with time and the very hot location of the circuit board the capacitor can dry out internally and become faulty. A replacement cost about 80p.
It is difficult to unsolder the capacitor from the pcb, I cut off the metal canister with a sharp pair of snips and soldered a new capacitor onto the legs of the old capacitor.
The replacement must be the same value as the original fitted and have a high temperature rating (105 degree centigrade) also the capacitor is polarised and must be connected the same way as the original.
Only do this if you have the skill to complete the job safely.
Make sure the appliance is isolated from the mains power supply before starting repair.

I think you will find that the clock/timer is an integral part of the oven and so if it is faulty or missing, the oven will not work. Because it controls so many things, I would say it would be easier to buy a new clock.
