I ordered a Vivitar camera through a catalog. It came with 2 sets of AA batteries and the Vivitar battery charger. I was charging the batteries as instructed before using them. The batteries exploded and ruined the charger. The batteries were in the charger about 10 hours when they exploded. I checked to see if possibly I had put the batteries in wrong, they were in the charger correctly. I would like a new charger and 1 set of batteries as the second set of batteries has not been charged yet. Please instruct me as how to get the replacement charger. Thank you, Faith

Email at [email protected] or US can call 1-800-592-9541 (calls appear to be answered in India) to see if they will replace them. You may also purchase your own charger and batteries at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Target, Office Depot, Staples, etc. They run about $30.

How to charge vivitar dvd 1020

You don't. The camera uses 3 AA batteries. You can use rechargeable batteries, but they must be charged using a separate battery charger.

Do i need the battery adapter for my vivitar 283

The 283 and 285 require an adapter to hold the 4 AA batteries. This is because there is an available battery pack NC-3 (NiCad) that works with the Charge-15 rapid charger. Loose AA batteries cannot be used without the adapter known as AP-1. They are all over eBay and quite reasonably priced.

How long does it take for a vivitar Vivicam 5118 to charge fully?

Since the ViviCam 5118 isn't a battery charger, it will take a very, very long time.
The 5118 uses standard AA batteries. If you want to use rechargeable batteries then you much charge them outside the camera using a separate battery charger. Connecting it to a computer through the USB port will drain the batteries even faster, since the camera has to expend power communicating with the camera (even if only to say it has nothing to say).

I just got a ViviCam T027, what kind of batteries do i need??

for some reason they take either AA OR AAA batteries. remove the batteries and it will say on the side what type. AAA batteries or small. AA are the larger "penlight" batteries. i would suggest/recommend that you purchase a set of rechargable batteries for the camera. 600ma minimum but higher ma would be best. most dept stores such as walmart etc will have charger + battery combination packs you can buy. as a side note buying dollar store batterys etc will be a waste of money as i've tried it. you might get one or two pictures from a set of batteries. your other choice is a good set of alkaline batteries. but rechargable batteries are your best option.

2 AA batteries and no power comes on. It has no memory slot but a USB slot to connect to the computer.

Make sure the battery is designed for a Digital camera. Although it is AA, it may not have enough voltage to power a digital camera - these types of batteries have a little more voltage. Also, make sure the batteries are seated in the battery compartment correctly - observe polarity + and - .

I own a vivitar T 324 and go through batteries constantly. Do I need to use a special battery for the camera to last longer than about a dozen pics?

Some of the early Vivitars using AA batteries had a reputation for going through them quickly. The best batteries for these cameras are high capacity NiMH rechargeables. These can last longer than alkaline types, per charge, and of course are reusable, so they work out a lot cheaper. Look for ones marked 2300mAH or 2700mAH, and get two sets so that one can be on charge while using the other. You can buy sets of these with a charger quite cheaply these days.
