Something more than likely chipped off/broke from the impact of the drop. Have you tried opening the PSP? *Note - opening your PSP will void your warranty.
downloading a game from a pc to a psp won't play on the psp in any case, unless you install custum firmware on the psp by buying a custom firmware kit of www.amazon.com.
If you don't want to do this any easy way of downloading games for the psp is buy using the psp store on the psp, which you should be able to get if you have the latest update. You can download the games from the psp store but they are not free. some of them actually cost more than just buying a UMD disc from a game shop.
If you have internet on your psp goto the left all the way and then go all the way up and there should be a update icon in your settings icon.
If this does not work you can download the update via sony's website and put it onto you memory card via usb from the computer and then update that way.
If you found this awnser useful please give a thumbs up or even better write a Testimonial.
Try turning off your PSP. Enter the PSN store. Go to downloads list. Re-download. Leave the PSP on a table to see if it downloads. If that doesn't work you can always use a PS3 to enter the account and download it there or a PC using PSP Media Go. Cheers :)
this is a problem, only japanese games will work in a japanese console. Or, you can get custom firmware for psp(google it) and you can play games from any region, be it europe, japan north america etc.
If you can not update your system through your PSP trying downloading the update with your pc and then transferring onto your PSP. Here is a link that will assist you in doing so.
Hmm there might be something wrong with the drive or the XMB software (read: firmware) which controls the PSP.
You can try updating the PSP to a more recent firmware (if possible) by using it's online update feature or by downloading it from the PlayStation website.
If that won't work I think it's an hardware defect and in that case you'll need to contact Sony PlayStation tech. support.
