Sounds like your heater coil or thermostat has gone bad. Take a look for signs of a loos connection or burn marks. it may need to be replaced.

Jenn-air fan works à short time then shuts off. Is there a capasitor that may be over heating or a bad switch

It sounds like it is getting to hot and going out on thermal. The probable culprit is the bearings are failing.

Burn knobs and fan turn on, lights are on but the burners don't come on and there is no heat.

hello after looking at your wiring diagram the only thing it can be is a blown breaker in your home. half of it works off 120v of the 240v circuit and the heating elements off the other 120v line. so you are only getting half the power to your unit. turn the breakers off and on see if maybe it just tripped.but its not the cooktop. hope this helps please dont forget to rate me thanks ken

After fan is on for awhile the motoe feels hot to the touch..Why??

That is because small motors like this are very inefficient.

Almost everything in nature that has inefficiency throws off energy as heat.

The motor is probably throwing off 100 watts of waste heat total, which compares to the heat of a 100 Watt light bulb, so getting hot is not surprising.

My fan works but it does not pull the smoke or heat toward it. Is there a blockage? Is there a filter that needs changing? Help!

The filter is always good to check first. If not chances are its a flow problem a shop vac works wonders.

Jenn air fan comes on with rear burners (elec) can I disable?

Perhaps, but sound safety says no. This generates a lot of heat in an enclosed space; the fan may be a nuisance but it is needed to keep the unit from getting too hot. Hope this helps!
