Try to capture the video first in your drive C and please check if you will get the same result. If not try capture the whole video and do the copy and paste so that you can transfer it to your external hard drive.

If you still getting the same result when capturing the video to the drive C.

Try to defrag your hard drive C. Disable your antivirus and firewall connection.

Update the driver of your video card and sound card.

If your using a laptop or the desktop. Make sure that the dazzle device is connected at the back USB and not in the front.

Hope this help

I insalled the software, but I can't get the videos from my camera onto my computer. When I put in the usb, it tells me it could perform faster in a different port but I've tried all my ports. I just want...

I think your PC is drawing attention to the difference between USB 1.1 and USB 2 ports, USB2 being much faster.

It wouldn't do this if you had USB2 ports on your PC.

Now working on the premise that your copying video tape to your PC rather than copying video files to your PC.

Other than rebuilding your PC or buying a new one will USB2 ports, you could

1) If its a laptop, use the firewire port. Just buy a firewire cable.
2) If its deskstop, buy a firewire PCI card (Not much, try ebay). You'll also need a firewire cable.
3) Carry on using the kit that you've already got, its just going to take a lot longer.

A final thought comes to mind, especially if the process is to copy tape to dvd.

I've have friends have no end of problems using these Dazzle and similar products in conjunction with a PC to make a DVD copy. The big issue being lip sync problems.

The way I prefer, and much more reliable is to daisy chain a

Camcorder/VHS recorder to a DVD recorder with a hard drive and finally a TV for monitoring.

Press play on the camcorder/VHS and record on the DVD player.

Once complete, edit on the DVD player and then write to DVD.

There can be a whole gambit of issues with these Dazzle devices. I hate them. Also friend have tried to copy to PC via firewire from mini DV camcorders. After a video of just a few minutes they run into lipsync problems.

For what its worth, I've managed to copy my VHS home video to DVD without issue and you may already have the equipment.

I hook up my VHS recorder with a DVD recorder which also has a HDD. Daisy chaining it on to a TV to monitor. All with scart leads.

Play the tape, record to the DVD hard drive. Finally edit and dub to DVD.

When using the Dazzle DVD recorder I am not getting a picture in the preview window. How do I capture the video from a VHS to the computer?

Disconnect your dazzle then connect at the back of your computer. Click on Start>Control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound and video games controller> right click on video capture device and uninstall it. Restart your computer. Open your IDVDR then choose the advance mode, on step number 1 click the pull down arrow and then choose your dazzle device thing. Turn on the power of your VHS and then hit the play button check if the image transfer to the preview screen of your computer.

I need a picture of how to hook up the dazzle to the vcr

If your trying to capture from a vcr make sure that the cables "composite are connected at the back make sure it is plug in to the video out.

Next, connect the cables directly to the dazzle.

make sure that the vcr is on and it is playing.

In the program Instant DVD Recorder please go to the step 1 select the dazzle as your video source not pinnacle file capture.

Then click option check the VHS input.
Video input must be composite if your using the composite
Audio input must be the dazzle.

Losing Audio Halfway Through Recording

The audio failure sounds more like a VHS player failure than a DVD software/recorder failure. Both audio and video are transferred at the same time to the DVD, and as long as the DVD recorder is working, that's really all there is. I would check the VHS player and confirm that the sound actually works all the way through.

Capture

We do recommend to capture in your Internal Hard driver first then transfer it later to your external hard drive. To avoid any eperience like video and audio is not sync or dropping frames.

Make sure that all memory resident software is turned off on your comptuer including any anti virus software.

If you have a secondary hard drive on your computer use that instead of the C drive.

Defrag your hard drive. This way you video will be save as a continous file on your hard drive rather than having it being saved into little pieces.

Make sure that the Dazzle drivers are updated as well.

The important thing is to shut down all memory resident programs and defrag your hard drive.

LG vs Lite On

both are just the same features just to write file from your hard drive. Maybe your point is you want the video from your VHS tapes will transfer to your hard drive. The only way to copy the video from your VHS is you need an external VHS player at the same time it will record the running video to a soft copy.

Please check this maybe this will be helpful http://www.allformp3.com/dvd-copy-software/convert-vhs-to-dvd.htm
