Hi,

The OS might have corrupted. Kindly boot and hold F8 key. Select the Last Known Good Configuration option. Try and let me know.

open f10 go to diagnostics 10008 bios code means the hard drive is fried new one for cq 60 160gb hard drive 90 dollars but might as well upgrade 500gb only 115 i would think the cq 56 should be about the same price

I have a compaq laptop CQ 40. the display screen is flickering continously after i have loged in . please help me.


reinstall video driver and restart the system. if possible, try connecting the computer on an external monitor and check if the display also flickers on the ext monitor.

I cant install win xp in compaq cq 40 137 tu. which gives an error that there is no sata drive is present in the laptop


U can try edit your bios.
If cant, then u have no choice but to integrate the sata driver on your window xp cd...

for XP OS make sure you have a copy of all your driver software so that you can install it after you install you XP if you don't have iinstaller of your laptop you can download the driver HERE
