Question about LG LWHD1800R Wall/Window Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My LWHD8000R LG windows unit just started spitting water. It's been operating just fine for quite awhile. I checked the drain pipe area and cannot see any clogging where the pipe attaches (though I have no pipe attached). I opened it up and cleaned it up as well as I could, but it will not stop. It starts building up water again spitting after running for about 15 minutes. It is tilted properly in the window. Any ideas? Can I make some sort of makeshift drain pipe for it?

My GE window unit air conditioner isn't blowing out very cool air,and it spits what

From what you have described, it sounds like the drip pan under the unit is full of water. This can be caused by the unit not being installed properly in the window. It must have 1/4' to 1/2" downward tilt at the rear. This allows the water in the drip pan, to flow to the rear and drain away thru the drain hole. Also, the drain hole may be clogged and needs to be cleared. The drain hole can be a challenge to find sometimes, as the clog can blend in with the hole. Be patient and persistent when looking for the drain hole. A pipe cleaner can be used to clear it.

I hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Haier 5500 window unit, spits water into the room sometimes. Also, water "sloshes" around inside the fan area & is quite noisy sometimes. ? Thankyou for your assistance...

You will need to reposition the unit to where it will be tilted downwards slightly outside.
The water will then flow out the back and not spit into the room.

My ac is spitting watter by the vent, and making noise i think it happends when the fan inside hits the water that acumulates inside is there something i can do to fix this and make the water go out

The AC fan is blowing the water that has condensed on the cooling pipes. It is possible that there is clogging of dirt in the fins of the cooling pipe'
this results in water logging. The filters must be clogged and dirt has accumalated.Use a good air spray or a water jet to clean. The condensed water must flow to the rear of the unit to drain out .{A/C must be fitted slightly tilted.}.Hope this helps.

Condensation buildup

Make sure the unit tilts towards the outside. If it's installed level or tilted toward front it will not drain properly.

My lg a.c. unit is spitting water from the front, it has no drain holes. it is slanted backwards and the outside of the unit is totally dry

i have to, that problem many of time ,you are at a point to where you have to get the build up out of the system now because it wasnt draining, pour bleach in the system bottom base,an if you are firmiliar with drillin in some areas where it wouldnt harm any parts do so. it will help slow down the build up ,but do it towards the back of the unit,an also look for any additional drain plugs that could be undetected ,,hope i helped you out

Started making a noise, spitting water from vent

there is a drain on the pan under the cooling coil - your "blades" if you are looking in from the front cover - the opening could be stopped up going to the back of the unit - you will have to pull it out of shell to see drain line

how long you last service the unit, when last you cleaned the air filter. Drain pipe might be clogged. If it has been a year it is time to service it

My Lg split system air con spits water

Make sure the unit is tilted downward at the back. About 1" lower than the front is good. Even with a drain, the water will pool inside if it doesn't have a slope for drainage.

Water spitting into room

If your AC is window unit, check the dirt underneath the unit and also check the level of your unit.

If your AC is a central unit, be sure check the drain pipe, should be toward to the outside.
