This problem can be solved wwith notheing but a can of compressed air and maybe a small lint free dust cloth it might be caused by dust build up in your daughters machine so just spray the can about two inches away from the michine making sure that it is held upright. after that wipe the outside of the counsel with the dust cloth and the disk drive so that all the dust can come off, also make sure to make sure all of the wires are plugged and not frayed or torn at the edges

hope this helps!

I have a Nintendo Wii and every time when i put in Wii sports resort it always says unable to read disk check Wii operation manual guide for help troubleshooting. but i lost my Wii operation manual guide...

Your disk may be scratched or dirty, make sure it is inserted the correct way. try inserting another wii game and see if it can read that.

You can try to clean your disk using this guide, but if its scratched then it wont help.

After inseerting the game, click the start we are told that the disk can't be read and to refer to the operators manual....why all of a sudden wont the game work?

The game could be scratched and there are numerous resources for how to fix the disk. You can try the one below.
http://www.ehow.com/how_4797518_scratched-wii-video-game-disks.html
You can also pay someone to fix it.

If it is only that disk that won't read, the problem is likely a scratch or some debris on the surface. If all your disks won't read, then you may need to have the Wii repaired as it could be a problem with the laser reader.

Our wii wont read the disks we anymore

Hi there freidgat

What to do when your Wii Has problems with reading disks and you have tried cleaning the disk.

This does not mean your Disk Drive needs replacing more often than not it just needs the laser to be readjusted.

Option 1

You can send this off to Nintendo if your still in warranty because it is included in there free fixes so they will do the collecting for you, fix it and return the Wii to you, all for free, but it will take 4-6 weeks.

Option 2

If you are out of warranty its the same process as above but its $150 in cost

Option 3

now a new Disk drive would cost around $75 for a compatible one and you may need some one to fit it at a cost as well.

Option 4

What I recommend is a Wii Repair Guide that will show you the simple steps yourself, you will be up and running again in less than an hour and the cost is far less than option 2 & 3

Good Luck

Wii wont read disk

mchlstull

In regards to your Wii not reading disks most likely your laser is dirty or you are having trouble with your drive its self.

They make a laser cleaning kit for the Wii you may try using to clean the laser. Note DO NOT USE a DVD/CD cleaner disk on the Wii. Only use ones that are made for game systems. Alot of times the lense for the laser is made different for game systems and if you use a standard one it can scratch the lense.

If this does not work then I would see if you are still in warranty. If you do then contact Wii support about getting an RMA.

If not you will need to look into replacing the drive. (There are several walk throughs on the Internet.) If you do not think you can do it your self then you may be able to find a local repair shop that can do it for you.

Hope this helps
