Question about RCA Mikomi 5290925 15 in. LCD TV

Open Question

I have a small flatscreen mikomi tv which I have just set up in the bedroom. The picture is fine but there is an awful constant buzzing when the tv is on regardless of whether the volume is up or down. Even on mute, the buzzing is still there. Nothing I do will stop this buzzing which at times can be quite loud. There is no portable phone or anything else around it that would cause this interference. How do I stop it? Lyn

Hi I have the 42 inch Sony Bravia in my bedroom. The picture upstairs in the bedroom is too big for the tv if that makes sense.

Hello. It's not a picture setting, it's a format, or picture size setting. Look for a button on the remote labeled Format, or Size, or Zoom, or something similar. You want to select 16:9, or Full, or whatever fills the screen without zooming.

I have a loud buzzing noise on my Toshiba DLP 46" projection TV. It is not the fan, it works fine. In fact the TV works great and has a good picture. The buzzing used to go away after awhile. Now it...

In some cases the buzz is external. The vibration of the unit may just cause a tray, flat surface, or other surrounding attachments to rattle and buzz. Look for anything that may be loose or laying on or about the TV.

TV making loud buzzing sound

More sets than you might imagine have this kind of problem---I a regular TV it is usually a transformer that is vibrating hard enough to make the sound---the higher pitched sound is just that--a sound.

If this is a direct view(means not a flatscreen and has a Glass Picture tube it will be either the high voltage transformer or one of several smaller transformers.

This can usually be fixed---seen a few so loud the cats in the house run away.

Let me know model number of set for more information.

On chance it has the high voltage transformer I attach a photo of what that looks like.

Blurred picture

Is it a tube TV or a flatscreen? If it is a tube then it is possible to correct this, however I'm not sure what caused it. Take the back off the TV, and look for the flyback transformer. It is the unit with a red wire coming out of it, going to what looks like a suction cup on the tube. On the unit there should be a small knob labeled focus. Try adjusting this. If it is a flatscreen, sorry, I can't help.

Interference

Hi there.

>Check your antenna - if you have a small bedroom TV set bring it front (or borrow one from a friend that has one) and plug the aerial in it. If picture has the same level of interference, it is the antenna. Outdoor antennas usually require professional servicing due to hazards associated.

>If the bedroom TV shows clear picture, next step is to remove the possibility that the TV set interferes itself - get a pair of plug-on ferrite cores (they look like a 1-inch long round barrel slashed in half until clipped on as one) and clip one on the power cord, as near the TV set as possible, and the other on the aerial cable, as near as possible to the tv set again. If problem persists post again.

My tv talks but the picture is not showing

Check your antenne connection or when you use DVB check if
the scart cable is fitted well.

This could be the trouble why you don't see anything and hear
only the sound.

Buzzing sound

You haven't specified where the buzzing sound is coming from, if it is coming from speakers, changing capacitors in the audio section will fix the problem, especially the filters. Now if it sounds like a hissing sound from back of the tv, the CRT base socket is the culprit. It is an easy thing to fix, and the base is cheap, but make sure you purchase the exact same type of base or it will harm the CRT. Good luck.

Very loud fan or vibration noise

Listen from the back of the TV and locate the source of the noise. There may be fan with a bad bearing. The noise will lead you to it.
