The softener dispenser has a blockage, it's very common these days and some brands of softener are worse than others for causing it.

Pull the drawer completely out of the machine. Flip up the cover over the rear half of the softener dispensing compartment. Thoroughly clean out all of the (usually black or pink) goo which is causing the blockage.

The softener dispenses on a siphon principle, so there's a blind-ended upper tube moulded into the cover which fits over a lower tube. The lower tube is easier to clean out as you can pass pipe cleaner brushes or similar right through it, the upper tube will be trickier as you need to winkle out every bit of goo from just one end. The goo is a biofilm, so if there are any traces left then it will rapidly re-grow.

Note that if you look carefully at the way the front panel of the drawer attaches to the main body of the drawer you can carefully unclip it. Once the front is removed you can safely put the rest of the drawer in a dishwasher to help kill off the remaining biofilm traces. I've done this thousands of times with Bosch/Siemens and AEG machines without any problems.

Clean the drawer regularly to prevent re-occurrence. You may also wish to consider switching to a wash powder brand with built-in conditioner, such as Bold: if you don't need to put conditioner into the dispenser, there's nothing for the biofilms to feed upon. They will feed on powder residues though so although you'll reduce the likelihood of getting further blockages you'll still need to clean the drawer (and the aperture it fits into) regularly to ensure that it never occurs again.

Please ask any questions if my solution is unclear, but if I've answered your question satisfactorily then please take a moment to rate my answer.

Water in the Softerner compartment

The softener drawer cover is designed to siphon out most of the water that runs into the drawer so, when the wash is over, the drawer should always be nearly empty. Unclip and take out the detergent drawer, unclip the softener cover and fill the softener tray with water. Clip the softener cover back on and the water should run out immediately. If it doesn't then a small blockage in any of the 3 pipes in the cover can completely stop the siphon action. Cleaning them out is generally all that's needed.

The fabric softner is not going into my washing machine

hi there just try washing the complete soap drawer again in boiling water leave in there for 10minutes to let the hot water work into the gaps and make sure u take all the holders out of the drawer u sometimes have to use a tooth brush to get into the small holes at the bottom of the little funnel what your softener holder goes over also get a small flat blade screwdriver and clean inside that funnel if thats not clean it will stop softener from going away if this doesnt work still then when your softener is supposed to be taken thru the programme make sure the washer opens the valve for the water to go into the fabric softener holder if it doesnt then the solenoid will need replacing as this could be faulty. LET ME KNOWHOW U GET ON PLEASE PETER

The detergent dispenser is located above the detergent drawer. A water pipe is connected to it and water entrance and distributed to drawer's cells (following the programmed cycle) by a lever's movement (part of the dispenser). The lever movement is controlled by two solenoids that received their power from the timer. By opening upper machine's cover you will have an access to the dispenser. Disconnect the power cable from the machine before moving to next test !!!! Look first that they are not any disconnected wires. Move manually dispenser's lever and see if water running to all cells (depend on your movement). In case it doesn't work properly remove the unit from the machine and try to clean it (I hope it will help, otherwise you should replace the unit). In case it works properly (manually) - you should test by a multi-tester solenoid's resistance. the one that doesn't have a resistance measurement should be replaced. Good luck !!
