Samsung 920nm sync master Black screen

Samsung sync master monitors were well known for bad capacitors, if you have a esr capacitor meter you can check in circuit, if not look for dome shape at the top of the capacitor, a dead give away it is open, also check for poor solder connections in the power supply inverter board area.

My iiyama e431s monitor pwers on and off every 2 secs. the picure is fine when the power light is on but the light and picure switch off regularly every 2 secs.

1) Go to Control Panel (Located on the start menu).
2) Then double click on Power Options.
3) The Power Options Properties window shall now open.
4) You will see a section called Settings for x power scheme, the x depends on which power scheme is enabled.
5) Click on the down arrow to the right of Turn off monitor: And set this to Never.

This should stop you monitor from powering off every 2 secs. If you need any further help just add a comment.

Please rate this solution by clicking the thumbs up at the top right of this solution. Your rating is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Like a lot of others. Black screen after 3 secs . Switch off, restart, a few secs off again any ideas ????

Your computer's video adapter may be asking for a resolution that is not supported by the monitor.

Start up in Safe Mode (Google it if you don't know what this is)
Change your display resolution to a low setting like 800x600.
Restart the computer and let it start up in Normal Mode.
The monitor should work now and you can change to a higher resolution so long as it is supported by the monitor.

Good luck!

Image for first 3 secs... light still on green

correodemie, Your ACER AL2016 will need to have it's "switch-mode-power-supply/CCFL inverter supply" trouble shooted and repaired. DIY repair cost less than $30. Out of warranty service $35 to $75, more if circuit board replaced. Read my and other techs FIXYA profiles to discover all the options you have for your BLACK screen symptom. Follow the links to other web sites for even more useful info. DO THAT before you do anything else. 12fixlouie

Monitor goes dark 2-3 sec after power up, green lite stays on

Look for shorted out transistors (four, c5706/5707) in the inverter backlight transformer driving circuits.

MY MONITOR AOC LM725 GOES ON & OFF REPETEADLY ?

No, all you need to do is reset the monitor to factory settings. I fixed mine that way.
If your monitor goes off every 3 seconds (like mine did) you have to be fast or siwtch it on/off few times between the steps to get it fixed.

- 1st. unlock the OSD if when you press 'menu' you get the message 'OSD Locked'. To do this switch off the monitor, and press 'menu' while you switch it on again.

- 2nd. Switch it on, press 'menu' and quickly 'press '<' (left) twice and 'menu' twice to get it reset.

- 3rd switch it off and on again and if still goes off after 3/4 secs, try to reset it again.

I reset mine and it is working find. Before it went blank after 3 secs.

I just tried this because I did not understand why if it was a hardware problem I could see the screen for 2/3 seconds and if pressed on/off it came back, it made no sense as a hardware problem.
