Pci to usb2.0 card not recognized in device, damaged?

Pci to usb2.0 card not recognized in device manager?
Hi, I have a pci to usb2.0 card installed in my old 586 desktop pc. But I noticed that it has a ACCESSBUS controller card in my device manager with a yellow question mark (in xp and vista) and the device obviously not working. There is no driver included.
Is it possible that the card is damaged or not sat well in its slot?

Its most probably seated ok but check that but also try another PCI slot it seems to be having a conflict with something else there. Also ive never had to use more than the standard windows drivers to install those cards. Good luck from Scott

No sound from ASUS P5VDC-MX

If everything is OK in Device Manager, check Audio in Sound and Audio Devices under Control Panel. The Sound playback should default to Device Manager device.

Plus, make Volume Controls are not muted.

Last, simply check with headphones.

Computer will not recognize card. checked to make sure card is seated

Check device manager and be sure it's not already there, but in an error state (driver issue maybe). I assume you are logged in with an admin account.

any other pci cards installed? - maybe mainboard ng and all pci slots are bad.
Try another pci slot.
Check bios to ensure all hardware is enabled
test the card on another PC for detection.

Hope this helps!

All USB ports dead....

Hi,

Try removing the PCI USB Adaptor and clean the gold contact with dry brush, then place it back again. If this still doesn't work, try moving the PCI USB Adaptor into other available PCI slot.

I hope this procedure solves your problem.
