Your Board has a 4x AGP slot, which is a 1.5v. This is the information that you need to make a buying decision.

As for the graphics, the board supports PCI Express graphics cards, its up to you which card to buy, you can either purchase Nvidia Geforce 9 series or ATI Radeon HD series.

Desktop upgrade

Asus is a Solid MotherBoard manufacturer of mother boards. If you are looking for an add-on graphics card (I'm assuming you want to do some gaming), You would want to upgrade the memory for that motherboard to at least 1GIG which can be found here.

Graphics cards wise, I wouldn't advise anything higher then a $100 card... As that motherboard only supports 4x AGP (The type of connection your video card would use) and to get more for what you pay for, you really need a motherboard with an 8x AGP slot to get 100% of what you pay for. A Radeon 9950 at around $92 is the most you would want to put into a system that currently has a p4 2.66 ghz.

For ASUS A8V-MX Motherboard which graphics card should use

This Motherboard has onboard VGA, but if you want to upgrade the expansion slot is a AGP. so you will have to purchase a AGP VGA card. ATi or Nvidia would be good enough.

Display problem

Hi there
try going into the bios settings and disable the on board graphics and change it to PCI or PCI Express.
You may have to plug the monitor into the on-board VGA port to do this, once done shut the computer down and change graphics port, then restart the pc, your problem should now be solved

Good luck and kind regards

Hey there alcouto, your motherboard supports Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium 4, and Intel Pentium D processors. The socket set is LGA775. The FSB should be no higher than 800Mhz. It appears you have purchased the wrong CPU for your board. I hope the rest of the info helps you on your next purchase. Good Luck!
