Question about Canon PIXMA MX310 All-In-One Printer
It sounds like you need to run printhead alignment.
Though I cant find a manual to tell you how to do it but
You can download the software http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=334&modelid=12764. You'll need to select your operating system.
Hope this should fix the problem.
