SOURCE: btu's

That air handler can accamodate different size coils. Look for the coil model number. Also you can look at the outdoor unit model number they should be matched up. There is generally a set of 2-3 numbers in the model numbers that will tell you. xxx036xxx is 36,000 btu. tonnage is 12,000 btu per ton so 36,000 btu's would be 3 tons. xxx040xxx= 40,000btu's or 3.5 tons etc.

What is the tonnage on an Intertherm S3RC-0336K.

Hello, the tonnage on this unit is a 3 ton unit. Your model number tells you. The 036 is the tonnage. There are 12,000 btu's per ton, so 36 divided by 3 =12 or in this case 12,000 btu's.

HOW DO YOU TELL IF 3,3 1/2 PR 4 TPN UNIT

Hi, you tell by the BTU"S it is. 12,000 BTU'S equal 1 ton of cooling. So, if you see a number in the model number like 024 or 030, and so on, 024 is a 2 ton, 030 is a 2 1/2 ton. Just remember this for each ton of cooling, you will have 12,000 BTU'S.

Identify unit capacity.

The nameplate will provide a large amount of information, including the the manufacturer's name, model, serial, electrical requirements and the BTU rating or capacity that I believe you are looking for. Like the 120 volt sisters, the 240 volt unit should also have a nameplate. If unable to locate it on the chassis or frame of the unit in a similar location as the 120 volt, you'll have to look elsewhere. A www.google.com search on model number you provided (XHD183D) for this question indicates that it is a 17,900 BTU unit. If this is the correct model, case closed. If not, continue reading.

A good place to locate a nameplate if not plainly visible on the unit as it sits in the window would be on the chassis or frame behind the decorative grille. The grille is likely held in place by several clips and a screw or two. Shut off the AC and unplug it from the power source. Remove the filter as if to clean and carefully check for and remove screws and remove the grille.

I hope this helps!

Greetings jdreisbaugh,

The tonnage is usually found on the name plate on the condensing unit outside. 12000 btu = 1 ton, 24000 = 2 ton and so forth. In your case the unit is 36000 btu, therefore a 3 ton.

I hope this helps!

Goodman furnace issue. Hello all. My goodman 80% furnace is turning on. running for about 7-10 min each time then the gas and motor turns off but blower keeps blowing air Like the title mentioned my goodman furnace runs for about 7-10 minutes (gas flame and motor) then shut off but the "blower" continues to run. Sorry if that sounds incorrect im just getting into the nitty gritty of a furnace as this is my first house. What i do is call for heat and then it will come on, after that 7-10 minutes the flames go out but i hear a blower keep blowing air, after about 1-2 min i hear clicking noises calling for gas, the flames come back on and another motor comes on then the flame goes out again after about 7-10 min until it reaches the desired temp. One morning it didnt come back on because it had started and stopped or cycled multiple times. We called someone out who didnt repair anything oddly but rather just did a diagnosis. The tech cleaned the flame sensor rod and did some basic testing but essentially told me, the board is having "phantom issues" and the feat flame sensor is old, the heat exchanger is also getting too hot so might be time for a replacement. Based on the behavopr and what ive read could it just be a limit switch? The board did blink 4 times red which indicates an open high limit. I do have a new air filter as well so it is clean and getting plenty of air from the return which was also cleaned. Let me know whatever information is also needed for this to help the seasoned vets and thank you all in advance!
