Here is the support site for samsung ..
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/download/supportDownloadMain.do
select mobile computing ..and the model of the laptop ...and after that the exact operation system in use...be sure is on the right bit (if it is on 64 select so ) after that , download again from the network category the drivers for windows seven and reinstall them into the computer ..
Sometimes the automatically installed updates are not the right ones for the cards in the system ..windows is not relieable in updates all the time ...or it may be just a issue or a confusion make in the automatically installed with the windows 7
be sure that you select the right ones cause your model may came in more than one type of card ...If you are not sure which is the exact model that your laptop is equipped with ...just download all the drivers in the network area..and try them one by one ...usually if the device is not present into the system ..the execution is telling you so ..and you just move to the next one ...
Another thing you should have in mind if you use a router ..is that your drivers may be ok ..but the router is not set right ..and so you will not have signal either on Lan or on wireless.....If you use to have another computer ..be sure you clone the Mac address into the the router ..cause most providers have a record odf the Mac address and blocks another ones even if you set the correct Ip address and all the other settings ....(this in case you have a Lan cable with a static IP address)
and it have to work ..cause the Lan card and the wireless card are 2 different things and there is no way that they broke in the same time ..This is what leads me to think that it may be something to do with the internet connection itself and not with the laptop ..to verify this ..just get to a friend and try to connect it there and than you will know for sure ...If it is so ..just call the provider and ask for support with the internet connection ..or set it yourself if you think you can ..
The issue is that if you did not connect the router right it will be no wireless or lan connection ...If you have another computer in the house try to connect it at least by one of the router;s Lan port and see how it is ..
Lets hope that it is just a issue with the drivers and after you download them it will be ok ...Just pay attention on the model and such cause the drivers are available for Samsung all the time ..

By the way ..if you think you can not manage with the downloads just let me a comment here with the exact model of the laptop and I will try to select them for you and make somehow to make a direct download ..(excuse my English ..I know that I make some grammar mistakes when I write fast ..I'm not a native speaker..)

As I do not have a internet connection on my computer. I had to use an other computer to download the drivers then move them to my own computer. But none of them worked, my computer runs the installation but says they weren't installed. An other computer is connected to the router and it works fine.

like I said ..pay attention to the model on the site ..and download all drivers related with the internet ...connection ...and try to see if the download you made is not just a link that downloads the drivers and installs then right the way ..(kinda like the yahoo messenger is ..ir is just a downloaded and needs internet connection to install itself)
another thing is to look for all drivers for windows 7 ..cause in the same model may be more than one kinda card ..and so can be more than one driver ..I just took a look on the support site ..and on a model of laptop there was 3 drivers for wireless and for windows 7 ..that means that the laptop can be equipped with 2 or 3 different kinda devices..so ..download all drivers for your model ..and try them one by one ...
The fact the the other computer works fine is a good thing ..cause at least you know that the connection is ok ..Make sure that the router do not have protection based on mac address ( card physical address) ,cause in this case the issue is the same but the drivers installed are fine ..
If the router is ok ..and the connection present and the drivers the right one ..it has to work ..

try both kinda drivers ..on 32 and 64 if you do not know what kinda windows 7 you have installed...

another thing ..the drivers are usually zipped and is better to use a winrar program to extract them first into a folder ..and after that to run the execution ...if the execution do not want to run ..than go to device manager ..and right click on the device and click update ..after that do not let the wizard to automatically search for the driver ..but choose to browse for them into a location ...and lead the wizard to the folder with the driver ...
If you do not know exactly what is the history of the laptop ..and if someone may changed something inside or not ...here is a program that once installed and the product key inserted...withhh show you a complete analyze of the device and lick to the driver ..and ..this way at least you will know what card you have inside and you will be able to search the driver by the card's name ..

    my computer is a samsung n140, with windows 7 with 32bit :) I have
tried all the drivers available and none of them seem to make a
difference, because the computer still can not get a signal from any
wireless router. I also tried to update them by leading them to the folder with drivers but the computer says that the are updated. If it is anything to do with the mac address then I have no idea how to change it! :S

lets try different ...first for the Lan connection ..
connect the cable from the laptop to one of the port in the router ..lets say the second port ..
in this moment it will say that the lan cable is connected..
by the way ..I understood that the router works with another computer ....and I assume that the connection is ok ..
click the lan connection icon on the task bar ..and a window will open ...after that click on properties...and choose the TCP/ip protocol ... if you know you DNS servers ..(those from the provider) ...the rest should be like thi s.. if the router's IP address is 192.168.1.1 than you should choose obtain an ip address automatically ...but ..after that click user defined..(advanced near the general) and here set the Ip'es manually like follows..
IP address in the second port will be
    192.168.1.3
    the subnetmask
    255.255.255.0
the default gateway should be the router's Ip address
    192.168.1.1
and the dns servers automatically or the ones that the provider gave you when you use to set the router ..

If the routers Ip address is different ..than use the one it has..and for the ports IP address use the same but add 2 in the last digit..
If you do not have a static IP address and you use the automatically setting in the router and it works with the other computer that is connected...take a look at its settings and insert the same settings in the tcp/ip protocol but add one digit iin the tail of the Ip address ..assuming that the drivers are Ok and the settings is to blame ..than this should work ..

I repeat ..I didnt understood perfectly if any other computer is or not connected and working on this router ..

Another thing ..to be sure that it is not a setting wrong made in router ...try to connect the laptop directly without the router ...and see if the lan card is working so we can eliminate this problem ...after that it means thatt some setting is wrong made in teh router and you should ask for someone to redo them if you do not know how to ...

  • kitty333 Jul 15, 2010

I connected the cable to the computer, but no response, no icon pops up. The other computer does respond to the LAN cable, so it isn't a problem to the cable. Would it help if I rebooted my computer?

  • Catalin Turcu
    Catalin Turcu Jul 15, 2010

no...just go to start and look for the my network places...and there click on show internet connections..than on that icon (local area connection ..) click and make the settings ...
you may also look into control panel for internet connection ..it has to be there too ...usually you should have those 2 monitors into the task bar on the tray system in the right ..but if they are not present .this may be another issue ..maybe the cards are disabled and in this case...you should reboot ...and On start press F2 to go to Bios settings ..and in there select optimal factory defaults...Im not sure what key for your model but if you look arround at one moment it would be shown somewhere and either select the link or press the key specified...usually F9 or F7 and save the changes with F10 ..restart and this may just be the issue that stopped you from connecting until no w...I mean they may just have been disabled...This action will enable all devices like in the factory settings ..remember look for optimal factory defaults...select ..press enter (y) and save changes with F10 ...enter again and it will restart by itself..after that if they were disabled it will pop up to install themselves auto..if the drivers are ipresent..

  • kitty333 Jul 15, 2010

The two monitors are not present.
I will reboot and see what happens :)
Thank you for your help :D

reboot and go to bios (cmos) settings by pressing F2 repeatedly soon after you start it ...in there look for optimal defaults like I explained...and after you get it to the factory setting save with f10 ...enter to confirm and restart ..

We have new netbook and we are connect to a wireless internet but my netbook will not connect to the internet.

First, on the left side of the main screen, you will see an icon that says "WI-FI Power". That's the switch to turn it on. When you click it, a little box will appear that says "turn on" when it's off and "turn off" when it's on.

But maybe you hadn't fully set machine up yet.

Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.

On a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.

For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".

For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet) in order to get your "network key" fill that in (on the 7" netbook) and then click "OK".

Next (on the 7" netbook) be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are there. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, YouTube, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people have way under-rated this fun little machine!

Laptop wont connect to wireless network but desktop is fine.

Perhaps, it just needed a new IP address. Simply rebooting the computer and resetting the IP Address of the computer took care of the issue.

or

That sounds like symptoms of Manufacturer & Windows drivers conflicting. Try uninstall the Manufacturer Drivers and let the windows ones do the work, and see how that goes down.

Samsung nc10 netbook will not connect wireless network

I know you posted this a long time ago (5 or 6 months), but just for future reference with other having this same problem or if you just gave up on connecting it wirelessly, here's the scoop. The Samsung NC10 netbook will not connect wirelessly and will sometimes tell you to make sure the the Wireless Switch is "On". However, there's no indication of where this magic switch is. I looked all over my keyboard, the casing, etc. I feel foolish now, but at the time I thought surely there existed an obvious switch. NOPE! The switch is located in "Change Network Settings" or something like that, sorry I don't have the computer right in front of me (I prefer my MacBook). In the window that opens, first thing you will see is your wireless network card listed and a button next to it that says "Configure". Click the "Configure" button and when the window changes you will be able to switch your wireless connection from "Wireless Off" to "Wireless On".
