I've open a case with Microsoft.

Just bought mine and have the same problem with Windows 7 Ultimate. If i speak normal with the earset place corectly on my ear, i get 2 bars out of 10 ...witch is way too low. If i take my Xbox 360 Wireless Earset and connect it to my computer using the same module, i get the same problem.

The person i spoke to on the phone did do the same test and got the same problem...so i guess its general... well unless you have a very loid voice...

This shouldn't have anything with Realtek witch i also have but its USB connected, so it doesn't go threw your Realtek audio drivers

The solution would be simple, implement a microphone boost or inscrease the volume drasticly within the Microsoft ZX-6000 driver

They are supose to transfert this to their development team. I hope their goiing to make the change and quickly enought since i'm waiting for that to fully experience starcraft 2 with this microphone!

(Seem i can't edit my post)

I've open a case with Microsoft.

Just bought mine and i do have the same problem with Windows 7 Ultimate. If i speak normaly with the earset place corectly on my ear, i get 2 bars out of 10 ...witch is way too low. If i take my Xbox 360 Wireless Earset and connect it to my computer using the same module, i get the same problem.

Of course if i remove the earset from my ear and place the micrphone in front of my mouth everythings fine...

The person from microsoft support i spoke with on the phone did the same test and got the same problem...so i guess its general... well unless you have a very loud voice...

This shouldn't have anything with Realtek witch i also have but its USB connected, so it doesn't go threw your Realtek audio drivers

The solution would be simple, implement a microphone boost (like any other micrphone driver) or inscrease the volume drasticly within the Microsoft ZX-6000 driver

They are supose to transfert my suggestion to their development team. I hope their goiing to make the change and quickly enought since i'm waiting for that to fully experience starcraft 2 with this microphone!

I cant make this head set to work on windows 7 operating system, i have downloaded everything, but still cant make it work, i can make work on the other op system, windows vista n xp

I have the same problem right now, it seems to be the LifeChat 1.3 software that comes with the CD is an old version that only supports XP/ Vista.

Please try download LifeChat v 1.4 32/64bit Windows 7 version.

I am trying it now, hope it works.

How to properly install a microsoft lifechat ZX-6000

Unless your getting an error message which you should post, you will need to go into the app that you want to use it for and make it the new default for that setting. The other thing to be aware of is the green lights down on the underside are green when charging, this doesn't mean it is on or sync'ed

press them both (i pressed both at the same time) and waited until they both stopped flashing green and the green stayed on.
Another tip it doesn't seem to work while it is plugged in to the power ?? (can't 100% confrim this)

ALSO if you can't hear anything, the stupid thing comes with the volume right down. so it doesn;'t matter how loud your computer's sound is you'll think your going crazy, but you need to turn the volume on the actual headset up.

Also it seems that it either turns down auto or when on power or that when you are fiddling with live button too much you might inadvertantly turn down, its really easy to turn all the way down, so you will think the speakers aren't working and change every setting in the book just to find out thats all it is,

Can i use lifechat zx-6000 to play and listen to music played by GOM player?

Yea, you can, you need to co to control panel and under sounds set the 360 head set control which will be your microsoft wireless control to default....but the sound is crapy..it seems that the manufacturers never designed this device for that kinda sound, only those who are talking to you with another mic...so i suggest sticking with your speakers or a good set of ear phones
