Where are the oiling ponts to the bar to the ryobi 16 inch petrol chainsaw?

Hi
It's Lisa?
On an electric chainsaw there usually aren't what you would call oiling points.Somewhere, probably on the rear or one side of the case will be a bulb. It's also the screw on cap for the oil reservoir.
You fill that up with chainsaw bar oil,and as you use the saw every few minutes push the bulb down 2-3 times and it applies oil to the chain and gear in the case. The chain transfers the oil to the bar.
If this helps, would you rate my post please?
Thanks Bob
By the way,if you give me your model number I can look for a manual somewhere. No promises though,Ryobi likes to sell their manuals rather than download them.

What type of oil do I use in my remington 16 inch 3.5 hp electric chainsaw?

You need “Bar and Chain Oil”, available at hardware stores and home centers. It is SAE 30 with additives to make it adhere to your bar and chain.
An excerpt from a Remington manual follows (edited).
FILLING OIL TANK

1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F.
• Colder use SAE 10 oil.
• Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for a good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.
• It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use.
• Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

Your OM here:

I recommend bar and chain oil (SAE 30 with additives to make it adhere) available at hardware stores and home centers.
From your OM, page 9 (edited).
FILLING OIL TANK
1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F

Colder use SAE 10 oil.
Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for a good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.

It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use.
Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

Page 8 has a pretty good chain illustration, I think mine is clearer for direction.

What type of oil is used in the remington 16" chain saw?

From page 9 of a M12510US (bar oil is SAE 30 with additives to help it adhere to the bar and chain):
FILLING OIL TANK
1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE #30 motor oil. Note: For temperatures below 30°F, use SAE #10 oil. For temperatures above 75°F, use SAE #40 oil. 3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.
Note: It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use. Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

This is one of the most complete "Owners Manuals" Remington offers. If not your saw you can find your manual here:
Remington.com
http://www.desaparts.com/index.htm
  • Type "YourModelNo" into the "Model #:" window, then click search.
  • Click the YourModelNo - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
  • Click “View Owners Manual” or "View Illustrated Parts Breakdown" link.

Like so much of what MrFixIt posts his opinion is based on BS. He can never take the time needed to provide any answer that actually requires thought or research!!!

Use bar oil available at any home center or hardware.

I need a oil primer button for a remington electic chain saw.model #108526-01.can u please help me find this part.thx

This are several part #'s (original and replacement) for the cap and bulb for your saw.
If your oil cap opening is 11/16" #107512-01, #079084-01.
If your oil cap opening is 7/8" the number is # 079084-02.

Although msservice (first link), and Master Parts (second link) says the 11/16" no longer available, you might try Grainger's (third link).

Most likely your not going to find the cap and bulb for the 11/16" opening however you could modify the other one. Try covering the opening with some plastic wrap and then wrapping the threads with Teflon tap. Then apply some Epoxy to the covered threads and placing the cap with the bulb removed over the opening. Once the Epoxy has started to set just unscrew the cap.
You could also heat up the plastic opening and expand it using a handle of a pair of pliers.

I hope something here helps.

I have pole saw model 108526-01 I need a new chain and a cap and bulb assembly where can I get these parts?

The good news is:
Your manual containing a parts list can be found here:
http://lawnandgarden.manualsonline.com/manuals/mfg/remington/100089-04_5.html
There is an IPL near the bottom, please save copy to your hard drive.

The part number for the oil cap & bulb assembly is 107319-02, I found it here:
http://www.remingtonpowertools.com/products.cgi?cat=11
I make no guarantees about availability. If you take the existing chain to a local chainsaw seller/mechanic they can almost certainly use it as a pattern to make a new chain

The bad news is:
Remington Power Tools have ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. I recommend rather than purchase parts for this discontinued brand you put the funds toward the purchase of a new saw. Poulan offers 8 different electric models, have been in business for a very long time and are a subsidiary of Husqvarna. HTH
Lou
We can provide no further help for your saw.
