Question about Audio Players & Recorders

The LHB977 bluray player's tray won't open. When we push the eject button it displays "DOOR LOCK." It was an open box item and it wouldn't open from the time we got it home EXCEPT for when we updated the software. Then it opened once. I think we need some kind of store code...

We already updated the software. There is no hole to provide a manual eject. Since it DID open the one time when we were installing the updates and since it WAS an open box item, we think the retail lock has been set. We need the code or some way to override it.

Try holding down the STOP or FF>> button on the player to reset the unit while the power is on. Turn the unit ON and press the Forward button for #0 seconds. Then try to eject the tray. If this reset procedure does not help then try this procedure as follows:-- 1) Turn the power off. 2) As soon as the power gets off immediately press the eject button. 3) Then turn the power ON.Keep the eject button still pressed.dont release it. 4) After the power turns on.Release the eject button and press the forward button for 30 seconds. Then check. ------------- If that is also not helping then try this procedure. 1) Unplug the main wire of the blue ray from electric power outlet. 2) THEN with it unplugged hold in the on/off button (on the device) for 30 sec. THEN plug back in. and then turn the unit on and check out.
------------- if still the same problem then the unit needs to be opened and tray lock should be released manually. Its not very difficult to open the unit.its only fitted with few screws and few hidden clips.you require a screw driver for screws and very thin/strong knife for hidden clips. Take care you just carefully release the tray lock internally but done move the alignment of any part. Its bit difficult to realign. So be slow and careful. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

CD DOOR WON'T OPEN

Just below the CD/DVD tray there is a tiny hole. Insert a straighten paper clip in this hole and gently push the paper clip until the CD/DVD tray pops out. You can now pull the tray out until it is in the fully opened position to remove the disc.
Try pushing the eject button to see if the tray closes, then push the eject button to see if the tray opens.
If this foes not work then the CD/DVD drive is faulty and it needs to be replaced.

Tray locked on sony dvp-ns77h dvd player

If the Sony DVP-NS77H DVD player displays "TRAY LOCKED" and you can't eject a disc or open the tray, try the following - First turn the unit off. Then, while holding down the eject, play and stop buttons simultaneously (on the front of the DVD player), turn the unit on with the '/O button (also on the front of the player). This released the locked tray for me.

Where is eject button cd is stuck making a grinding noise

On every CD/DVD/BluRay player there should be a VERY small pin-hole on the front of the actual tray(you may have to wipe any dust off the front in order to see the hole). If you stick a saftey pin in there you will release the lock on the tray and it will pop open. Now if the CD is really really jammed and the pinhole trick doesn't work you will have to take the drive apart to get the CD out.

I hope this helps! If not, please comment back and let us know!

My husband always operated the DVD player. He has died and now I'm at a loss what to do. I rented a DVD at the video store. I tried to put it into the tray on the DVD player. I had to pull the tray...

Hi, Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on. To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.
I will gladly answer your questions Best Regards Bruce

Dvd player will not open disc, display lock

Sound like it either has one or two problems, the door is stuck and or the door eject motor has failed. Look in the front to the player for a small paperclip like hole, and use a paper clip to manual eject the and engage the loading mechanism usually located under the door for most cases. Check you manuals troubleshooting section for manually ejecting a CD..

Please leave comment.

Locked dvd tray.

To unlock, manually press and HOLD the open/close button & the stop button simultaneously, and HOLD them both down until the lock picture disappears.   The DVD will eject when you press the open/close button.

To lock the DVD inside the machine, repeat the same step, and it will lock it inside.
