You will have to install blackberry desktop manager in order to route enough sufficient power to your blackberry device. you can download that software from the CD rom that came with your phone or by going to the following link:

http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/

as soon as you download that software go to options, connection settings and change the connection type from NONE to USB PIN: ^^^^^^^ and it will charge just fine! :)

Why will my phone not power on? The let stays solid while charging but will not power on

are you trying to charge the phone with the wall charger or the USB cable. if it is the USB cable then chk if the USB port both on the laptop and the hand held is faulty or not, then chk if the USB cable is faulty or not. if you are to charge through the wall charger then check if the charge is faulty if every thing this is fine then get chk the battery.

Not charging

Go to your cell phone store and have them try another charger.
If that doesn't work your phone is damaged and needs to be repaired.
I hope this helps.

Blackberry 8800 will not charge on wall charger

You need to find out if the problem is with your current AV charger - the battery or the phone.

Clean the battery and the metal connection with a dry cloth, and try to charge using a USB charger.

How do you turn on a blackberry 8800?

If the battery is fully charged, it should turn on by pressing the button with the red phone reciever on it. Its to the right of the trackball next to the bent arrow button.

Free unlock codes for blackberry 8800

No one can give you unlock code for free. and dont try to enter unlock code. because it will block your blackberry. if you want to unlock your blackberry only use trusted sites. order your Blackberry unlock code here http://blackberrymep.com/unlock-blackber... this site charge very reasonable price.

I have BlackBery 8800

If your phone is a GSM phone meaning the phone has a SIM card usually T-mobile or At&t, tell your son to call customer service and tell them that he needs the unlock code for his phone, if he has been with the company for more than 90 days they will give it to you with out any hassle, they might ask why you need it, tell them he is traveling over seas, they will email you the unlock code wihin 48 hours, free of charge, when you get your new service provider they will issue you a new SIM card which you will put in the phone once it powers up it will ask you for the unlock code.

There is another way if you dont mind paying a few bucks, check out this link. let me know if this helps

USB connection failure to Blackberry 8800

I have the same problem.  The following solution may apply; here is how to IDENTIFY the problem: (1) Phone doesn't connect to desktop software through USB but will through BT (if setup) (2) Phone doesn't charge whether USB-computer, USB-wall, USB-carcharger or does sometimes but you are not sure why it works sometimes but not all the time (3) If you hold, lean, twist, or jiggle the plug at the phone, it may charge or the charge icon may show briefly (Also) Plug is noticeably loose or comes out Solution: if plug is torn loose, damaged, or comes all the way out, go to this site and follow along in kind http://computerguru365.blogspot.com/2006/02/diy-blackberry-usb-repair.html If plug is simply intermittant: remove all power and the battery, open your phone, and carefully redo the solder joints of the plug.  If you don't have a SMT (surface mount) rated soldering iron w/ tip, you can use the radio shack standard but be sure to only apply the hot tip in pulses (less than/up to 50% of time, less than 3sec each touch) so you don't heat damage the surrounding components. Why: Because the plug gets tugged to the sides causing the solder joints to crack (microscopically).  At first I had to lean books against the plug but then that quit working as well.
This approach also worked on my laptop which quit charging when plug torque flexed the motherboard and cracked the solder at some surface components near the plug.  I found out which components when the varying the force of my multimeter tip cause the component to show open and normal across the solder joint

My usb

I had the same problem - you need to install the latest Blackberry USB driver software on the PC/laptop you are trying to charge it with. They should be on the CD you got with the Blackberry (you don't need to install all the software if you don't want to - just the USB drivers). This enables the USB ports to allow enough power to charge the device when it's connected.

If you don't have the CD, do a quick Google for "Blackberry USB driver" and download the most up-to-date ones you can find.
