Question about D-Link RangeBooster G WBR-2310 Wireless Router (WBR2310)

1 Answer

D-Link router does not connect to my laptop

I have a D-Link WBR-2310 wireless router that has all green lights lit up, but the router doesn't seem to give a wireless frequency. When I perform the command "ipconfig" on my laptop's command prompt it gives the message that all medias are disconnected. On a regular basis, when I turn my router on, my laptop will usually pick up the signal and connect to the internet instantly, but not this time. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

Remove the cat5 cable end that goes from your internet connected computer to your router; remove the end of this cable from your router ; remove your modem to router cable end from your modem put the internet computer cable into where the router cable was in the modem; unplug then: plug in your modem; wait for the modem to reboot; verify that the internet computer is online then swap the cables back where they were
you should now be able to connect your laptop wirelessly to the internet.

If all lights are lit regardless of anything connected then you may have a hardware failure. Try a hard reset by putting a tip of a paperclip into the small reset hole while powered on for 10 seconds. See if that resets you router - if not then it is dead.

Reset the router and try it with the WPA2. If you haven't you should update firmware to version 1.05. This version fixes the WPA2 authentication issue. However, be forewarned that if you update to this version, it seems to reboot the router if you put too much traffic through it...

Configure d-link wbr 2310 and now wont connect

Hi mech_warrior,

Press the reset button of the d-link router for 30 seconds, unplug and plug the power cord.

MAC cloning is used for Cable ISP configuration but that should not affect the router's functionality (odd router behavior) ;-)

That should do it!

My Dell laptop does not connect easily to d-link WBR 2310 router

2 wireless laptops are connecting. that means the router must be working properly. Only 1 laptop is not connecting.
Try to change the wireless channel on the router.
For this you will need to open the set up page of the router.
Is there any computer connected to the router ? If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router and open the set up page. Under wireless settings try to change the wireless channel on the router and see if that works.

D-link WBR-2310 Stop working

Sounds like a defective modem/modem failure if, it does not reset or if you take all of the other wires out and just leave the power in and none of the other lights go off then that is definitely a defective mode, I suggest either returning the modem to where you purchased it from or calling D link it should be covered under there warranty for replacement.
