Cd/dvd rw drives do not require drivers to operate.

What problems are you having with the drive?

Hello sbrown20,

Do whats suggested at this article
http://support.microsoft.com/default...#91;LN];314060

Anyway, as Mark7171 said, there are no drivers for optical drives and Windows has its generic driver for it, which is good enough.

If that does'nt work then go HERE
and download CDgone Patch. Save it to your Desktop. Create a new folder
on your desktop and unzip the downloaded CDgone Patch into the newly
    created folder.

There will be 3 files in the new folder... a
Readme file and two registry (.reg) files... green icons. Double click
on the reg file named EditReg and confirm OK to any message windows. Then right click on the reg file named cdgone and select Merge... again confirm OK to any message windows.

Restart your computer. Hopefully that should help...If it works, don't forget to give a FixYa! rating ;)

    Cheers!

Sony CRX3105 CDRW/DVD not functioning

1st of what OS are you using?
If your using Vista onwards,
Device manager supports updates through net You have to right click on the device and select properties
On the drivers tab, press update. Go through the process, you may select to update them through internet access.
If ever it fails, change the DVD (sata or IDE) slot.
A way to find out that DVD's are working is to put a CD in and if the LED light blinks, it still reads data and the prob is @ your computer (driver).

Hope I helped JeyCi

Bought DVD-Rs, 'Verbatim', 16x for Dell Dimension 4600, driver Samsung CDRW/DVD SM-352F Computer does not recognise the dvd Wrong purchase?

This drive is a CD writer only. Although it will read DVD's it will not write to them.

You will need to replace the drive with a DVD-RW drive.

Hope this helps.
