Welcome to FixYa
Sir,
Try resetting the printer and see if the printer is working or not. Printers also have a software installed in it which controls all the function of the printer.
check if the cartridges of the printer are installed properly or not. If the cartridges of the printer are not installed properly then the printer will not be able to access the cartridges and hence will not be able print from it. Power on the printer and open the LID. Now the Cartridge bank will be visible. Remove the Cartridges and then replace them back again in their respective slots. Once the cartridges are replaced properly, try printing the test page.
To Test Print Page:
Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 1. Click [Start] on the Windows task bar, then select [Printer and Faxes].
2. Right-click the corresponding printer driver icon and select [Properties] from the pop-up menu.
3. Click [Print Test Page] button in the[General] Tab, and verify that the test print page has been printed.

Here is Driver for Your Model Click here{select OS and Download ]
Uninstall Existing Driver and Reboot> then Install this Driver software again..
Hope this Helps...Thanks for Using Fixya...

Double check that the error isn't 6C10. I also thought I had an 8C10 error also and that's how I found your unanswered question! But I couldn't find any other internet reference to 8C10 but I did find a YouTube fix for a 6C10 error message. So I got my reading glasses and looked again. Sure enough it was a 6C10 error! I followed the instructions for the 6C10 error fix (resetting Ink Absorber Reset) and my printer is now functioning. Bonus note: My printer is a MP620 and the reset was for a MP550. Same error number though! and also same solution. By now your printer has probably crossed that printer rainbow bridge... but hopefully someone else will need your help? With my reset, I am going to run my $$$ ink cartridges out instead of maintenancing the absorber and then toss mine as well!

6C10 error cannon printer MP640

This error could appear on these Canon Pixma printers: MP110, MP540, MP630, MP620, MP640, IP3600...

Solution 1:
  • Move the printhead to the center.
  • Disconnect the printer and check on the right: is the purge unit ok ? No peace of paper ?

Solution 2:
  • Do a reset of the printer:
  • Power on
  • Hold down the "Resume" button (triangle in a circle) for 15 to 20 seconds.

Solution 3:
  • Power off the printer.
  • Open the door.
  • Power on.
  • When the cartridge is in the center, close the door.
Solution 4:
  • Open the lid and allow the ink cartridge carrier to center itself.
  • Looking to the right, you will see a row of white rollers behind the carrier.
  • At the end of the rollers there is a small, clear piece of plastic that sticks up. Take a small piece of a paper towel and wipe all of the ink off this piece of plastic. When that is clean move on to the ink pad.
  • About 1 inch, towards the front of the printer from that piece of plastic, is a small square, about 1/2 inch per side, that is a small foam pad. This is where the excess ink is collected.
  • Take a piece of paper towel and press into the foam. Do this until the paper towel is no longer collecting ink. Close the lid, turn off the printer then turn it back on.

6c10 error on my canon mp630. There does not appear to be any paper debris and I have been turning the rotten thing off and on for weeks now to get it to work

It's probably a waste absorber issue.

A fix from FixYa Support:

1. Start with printer off
2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on
3. While holding the Power button, release the Resume Button.
4. Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons.
5. Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
6. Turn off the printer and turn on again

Hope this helps.

My Canon MP630 has a 6C10 error

You have a "Valve Cam sensor error". Usually caused by paper debris inside the printer, probably near the purge unit.

Have a ggod look inside and see if you can see any bits of paper.

Hi there , my canon MP630 has all of a sudden 6c10 error ?

That error says that either something is jammed in the purge assembly, the unit on the right that cleans the printhead, or the purge assembly is stuck or broken. If you unplug the printer with the carriage in the center you can use a flashlight to inspect the area on the far right where the printhead parks.

Canon MP630 error code 6502

Error 6502 is the ink tank position sensor error. Basically means the printer can't see the inks. Try reseating them. If this fails you need to send it back.
