I am replacing the shell on my ds lite and when after puting it back together the touch screen lights and works the the touch pad doesnt respond

It sounds like when you replaced the shell, you may have not reconnected the touch screen's membrane sensor. I'd open the system back up and make sure there aren't any loose or disconnected wires.

Replaced shell on DS Lite, after when turning on, green light comes on, screen flashes and DS shut down. What could be the problem?

Maybe a wire got connected wrong in the reconnection process. Maybe you could call or go to Nintendo support.

Change cases

if you have the correct screw drivers, open up the bottom if you can see the ending of the ribbon on the motherboard, slide a "regular" screw driver under the clasp and gently lift up. this will free the ribbon from the mother board. i believe the clasp is black. but remember be gentle and try not to scrape the ribbon too badly.
