T.v.says lamp not working

If the display indicates then it is possible that the lamp has failed or that the Power to the lamp is cut off. You will need to check the status of the lamp and also the lamp connectors, the supply from the power.
Check to see if the cooling fan is clogged and so has reset the processor with a error. If so clean the filter to reset.

DLP TV won't run after replacing lamp.

When the lamp on your DLP blows out or the "replace lamp" light says it's time to replace the lamp, you do, then the unit will not power on you may not have inserted the lamp fully, correctly or the interlock switch may not be closing completely on the lamp door.

For safety purposes DLP TV's have an electrical interlock where the lamp door closes. The set cannot be energized with the lamp door off or open. If you remove the lamp door you should see an arm on the door and a slot in the frame with the contact for the switch visible through it. Make sure that the arm is not broken off or damaged in any way.

With the door removed, remove the lamp assembly being careful not to touch any of the glass. If you still have the replacement instructions reread them and follow the reassembly instructions carefully.

Be certain that the lamp assembly is installed properly and seated completely on the power plug. When you are absolutely sure that it is mounted correctly, attach the lamp door making certain that the interlock is being depressed by the arm on the door.

If the unit still does not power on remove the back from the set. This generally involves removing many screws around the perimeter and should be obvious if studied for any length of time. Once the back is removed look at the interlock switch and make sure it is mounted correctly. Many times removing and reinstalling the lamp door will move the switch (if it is loose) causing the switch to not perform it's task and clear the fault for the lamp door.

If the unit appears to be mounted correctly use a DMM to check the continuity of the switch both open and closed. If the switch shows continuity when depressed it is good. Reassemble the unit and try it. If the lamp door switch was the problem you unit should now work.

If your unit still will not work I have a tip at which may be helpful for more advanced troubleshooting.

Thanks for using FixYa.

To replace lamp in JVC projection TV follow the steps below.
[1]. Order a compatible replacement lamp from JVC. Order a replacement lamp from JVC's Accessory Store or a local authorized parts distributor to ensure that you obtain a compatible replacement lamp. To order a replacement lamp, you must have the lamp type and lamp code of your JVC projection TV, which can be found on the rear of the television.
[2]. Turn off the television and allow the bulb to cool. For safety reasons, turn off and unplug your television before accessing any of its internal components. Wait at least 20 minutes before attempting to replace the lamp so that it has time to cool down. If the back of the television is not warm or hot to the touch, it is safe to begin removing the lamp
[3]. Unscrew and remove the lamp door. The lamp door on JVC projection TVs is located on the rear left of the television and is shaped like a square. Several warnings related to the lamp will be printed on the door. Use a Phillips-head or flathead screwdriver to remove the large screw, then remove the door
[4]. Unscrew and remove the lamp assembly unit. After you have removed the lamp door, you will see the lamp assembly unit. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws. One screw is on the top right corner of the unit and the second screw is on the bottom left corner of the unit. Detach the lamp assembly unit from the compartment by lifting the handle and pulling the unit away from the television
[5]. Install the replacement lamp and secure the lamp door. Hold the replacement lamp assembly unit by the handle and insert it straight into the compartment. Reinsert and tighten the two screws onto the lamp assembly unit with a screwdriver. Place the lamp door back onto the television and tighten the screw to secure it to the television
[6]. Reset the television's lamp timer. Press "Menu" on the television's remote, then scroll to and select "Lamp Timer Reset." Press "OK" to rest the timer. A prompt will appear notifying you that the timer has successfully been reset

How i know wich lamp is damage? Sony LCD

There is only one lamp in this model set. You can tell when its worn when the unit intermittently shuts down while watching or the picture is not as bright as it used to be. The lamp compartment is usually located on the right side of the unit, there you will see a small compartment door access. Remove the screws and the Lamp will be visible, you might see two screws on both sides of the lamp or a handle to just gently pull the lamp out.

The tv i have is an 52 inch big screen. The model number is 50hmx96, the serial number is 30405011,and finally the lamp number is y66lmp and that is where my problem comes in, i was watchting the tv and...

Looking at the back of the TV the lamp door is on the bottom left. Loosen the one screw holding it on. Remove the lamp door. Inside is the lamp unit. Loosen the two screws on the left of the lamp unit. Grab the handle on the lamp unit and pull it straight out. You may want to vacuum the dust (and glass) off at this point. Slide the new lamp unit straight into TV until it's fully seated. Tighten the two screws on the lamp unit. Re-install the door and tighten the screw. Lightweight gloves are recommended for this procedure.

Can I replace the lamp myself?

Steven, you should be able to if you can use a screwdriver. Get your model number off the rear of the unit. Go to . Put your model number in the search and find your lamp. Depending on the model TV the door to access the lamp may be on the back, front or side. It will be in your manual. Remove the door, remove the lamp, replace the lamp with the new one, replace the door and your unit should be good to go. Hope this helps. Let me know.

Lamp won't come on

It could possibly be that the access door to the lamp is not completely shut. If you just hear the color wheel turing and no fans is definitely could be that as it was with mine. The little plastic piece on my door that presses the switch to let the projector know the the door is shut broke off on mine and I had to glue it back on.
