In order to properly install a remote starter in a car, you need to carefully follow the installation instructions to prevent damage to the vehicle's computer system. Mechanical skills are also necessary to remove interior panels of the vehicle, run wires and make wiring connections.
Start the vehicle and check all lights and switches to ensure that all systems are in working order.
Open the remote starter kit and read all instructions. Make sure you understand the instructions before you begin.
Remove the panel under the steering wheel and locate the wires to connect the remote starter. Standard connections are power, starter, ignition and accessories such as power locks, temperature controls, radio and alarm system. Disconnect the vehicle battery. Use caution while doing this.Connect the remote starter wires to the proper vehicle wires. Depending on the vehicle and the wiring, connections may consist of more than two wires. Use relays when connecting more than two wires. Reconnect the battery and test the remote starter. Most probably its a connection fault.Check the voltage at the remote starter wires where you have connected. It should show exact 12 volts. If less then that its not connected properly. If more then 12 volts then the wires are not connected to their proper positions. If no voltage then wires are loose or not connected.Re-check and re-try.It will start.
Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Everything is connected right I would presume. Could it be possible a door trigger that isn't connected the problem? The alarm works but it just wont start with the button. It starts regularly but that is it. Also the car is a 1990 Plymouth Acclaim LE 4 door Sedan. The alarm/starter is Aftermarket Generation brand. I checked all of the wires and just can not figure out the problem. Could it be the door switch?

I have a remote starter in my car and the car wont start. It is not the starter or the battery

if its an aftermarket remote starter bypass the remote start or you can take it to a best buy garage have them look over the wiring. If its a factory take it to a GM garage. If you are good with these things look over the schematics of the remote starter you have installed it may be a resistor issue.

Car wont start. turns over but wont stay running . attempted to install a remote starter on my 03 malibu. the first module broke so i had to order a replacement, during which time i simply left the wires...

your cars antitheft system is trying to prevent the car from being stolen so it is shutting it offf after it starts. go back over step by step you installation instructions make sure the ring around the ignition that comes with the remote starter is taped into the exact loacation it needs to be, or the cars own anti theft system will not notice it and will try to shut car off. its an anti theft feature. if this doesn't wotk you will not be able to use this remote starter. i ran into the same problem finally got it to work poperly.

2000 Chevy Blazer Won't Start

You can check the manual that came with the Remote starter.
If you do not have one try look it up on line.
You can try call the people that install that kind of remote starter.
Some started do a lot more than start your car and the only way to know is to look at the manual.
You are trying to find out if it is has a ignition kill command.
