Hi,

Defence center is a nasty virus that sends the computer crazy if left to run long enough.

I recommend downloading and installing malwarebytes free version to get rid of this pain in the rear end virus. To download malwarebytes click on the link below >>>>>

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Note: the virus may not allow the program to be installed in normal mode so boot into safe mode and then install the program and run it. Perform a full scan.
It also hijacks your web browsers to so make a back up of your favourites or bookmarks and reinstall your web browser after the virus has been removed.

Regards.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of Kasperky anti-virus

Others have done this evaluation:
http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/kaspersky-review.html
It has good ratings by users. It isn't free. Many free well rated antivirus programs exist. The choice is yours. Hard to go wrong really if you have a fairly new computer. For older computers best to stay away from the comprehensive antivirus packages unless your are really paranoid. Best to practice save browsing as your first line of defence.

Is Registry Defender safe security for a computer?

It is the "last line of defence" -- if a computer-virus is RUNNING on your computer, you're already COMPROMISED. The software will prevent the computer-virus from modifying the Windows Registry, but at this point, it's already too late.

Antivirus wont turn on in settings

Is your Anti Virus Up-To-Date? Will it update? Depending on the Brand of software(you didn't post), Anti Virus, that's installed. The windows Security Center may not recognize it. Open Security Center and change Notification of Anti Virus. First make sure it hasn't been compromised, if you are infected the infected file will shut down your Anti Virus. Use this freeware program to verify a clean system , MALWAREBYTES: http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ In the install, UNCHECK the Trial Pro version, you want the freeware version, Run a FULL scan, delete ALL results, reboot. Depending on the size of your HDD, it may take hours. Post results and your Anti Virus Software Manufacturer.

Windows Security Center alert ?

The fake Windows Security Center is a virus that invades a computer and threatens the user that his computer is infected with multiple viruses. Although this "tool" looks legitimate, it is actually rogue malware. It can be time-consuming to remove this fake Windows Security Center from your computer, but you can do it for free.

Download and install a legitimate free anti-malware program, such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (malwarebytes.org), on your computer. Restart your computer and hold down the "F8" key for a few seconds before the Windows logo appears to start the computer in safe mode. Run the anti-malware program and allow it to perform a full scan of your system. This may take hours, depending on a number of factors, but allow the anti-malware software to do its job so that you will be able to fully remove fake Windows Security Center from your computer. http://www.malwarebytes.org/ rather than pay for it http://corbitek-antimalware.soft32.com/free-download Free reliable antimalware solution with realtime protection and automatic update Click to put a check mark next to all of the malware files detected in the scan and click "Delete." Download and install CCleaner (piriform.com/ccleaner). http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner This free program will scan and clean out all temporary files on your computer. Run the program, and when it finishes, your computer should be free from the fake Windows Security Center. Restart your computer to exit safe mode.

Window sercurity say's there's no anti-virus running.

If you are positive you have any anti virus installed, you can disable the notification.

Click Start, then go to Control Panel. In Control Panel, open Security Center.

On the left hand side of the window, click " Change the way security center alerts me"

Uncheck Virus Protection and click OK.

What OS and what Anti Virus program are you running?
The OS will recognize some AV products and not others. You can tell the Operating system you will monitor the Anti-Virus software yourself.
