I don't think there is a virus on Facebook. At least not what is saved in the cloud. I'm afraid you need a good virus scanner on your computer. When you have Windows 7 or 8 you can get a free, and good security from Microsoft, install that. Microsoft Security Essentials Microsoft Windows

How do I remove errors and viruses without paying hundreds of dollars?

If the computers infected the virus may load into memory at boot and will also be in the restore files. If you can get someone to download the Kaspersky's rescue disk (free) and burn it to disk. On your computer go into the BIOS at start up - Press F2 (or F11 or delete) when you power on & keep pressed until you see entering setup. - Find the entry for start up devices and make sure the first device is your CD, then save and exit. Put the Kaspersky disk in and start the computer. There are instructions on how to use the disk on the Kaspersky's site. This will start in Linux and remove viruses and malware before windows starts. Then open the control panel, open system and turn off system restore. If you havn't got an antivirus there are plenty of good free ones, Avast or AVG are OK and download a free anti malware like super antispyware. Run a full scan with both. You will have spent nothing and few viruses could survive this.

I have many problems with my computer and i think it has multiple viruses. What do you suggest that i do?

Use the Restoration Disk/s, (System Restore Disk/s, Restore Disk/s = Same/same), and perform a Full Installation. (Destructive Installation) Wipe the Harddrive until it is back to day 1 when the computer was made.

Programs will run and them freeze up(not responding)

This could be such a wide range of issue, multiple solutions are possible.

1. Run a full computer scan with virus protection software...NOT NORTONS! Just trust me on that...
2. Perhaps you are running too many programs at once, or very large programs simultaneously and your computer RAM or CPU cannot keep up.
3. Perhaps your HDD needs defragmenting
4. Could be good to run a Check Disk
5. Run the Cleanup wizard to delete any unnecessary files ie temp internet files, temporary install files etc.

Unfortunately, the list goes on. There really isn't enough information here to give an accurate diagnoses

Do not showing full space

Hi,

I think the problem is due to a virus. Your system or hard drive (PAN drive) might have a virus. It is the virus causing your hard drive not showing full space. i suggest you install a good antivirus to your computer like kaspersky and NOD32 and scan the PAN drive and formate it.
go to kioskea downloads - system - formatting, and download the USB DISK STORAGE FORMAT TOOL,
intall it on your pc and use it to format your drive. its simple ans easy. another way is-
You can format the pen drive from hp usb disk format util.. u can download form following link

Laptop keeps turning off and DVD-CD-RW Rom won't work.

The turning off problem may be a memory problem, download and run a memory checker (memtest 1.7 or later) it may also be a virus problem
ensure your virus checker is up to date and run a full scan, these would be a first step to try and solve these issues.

good luck

Help

Hi, if you have the orriginal install disks that came with the computer then you will be in good shape. What you need to do is run the Xp install or recovery disk and at the SECOND prompt run repair, this will take you through the entire setup for XP, restoring the missing files but will save all your existing ones.
If you do not have the orriginal disks then you will need to buy a new install disk.
