Question about Maytag Neptune MDE5500AY Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Maytag 7500AYW electric dryer stopped working after a transformer blow up. The interior light works, but the LCD panel does not. I checked the voltage input (L1 L2 N) and they are fine. I get no voltage reading for the heater relay P1-BB1(1), L1 board input BB1(1)-BB2(3), or neutral input BB2(2)-BB1(1). I changed the heater realy p/n 306199 because it had a burn mark on the plastic but it did not work. Any ideas what to look for?

Mde3500 Electric Dryer will not heat

it sounds like the door switch itself is good but has a poor connection after the switch. That would explain why the momentary light flashes. The heating element will not start unless the door switch is sending a constant closed signal. Check your wiring & control board.

Maytag Atlantis MDE7400AY Dryer pull knob not engaging dryer, changed it, still doesn't work. Please help! : )

If it won't run at all that probably is due so some sort of lint build up. To get into this dryer you remove the door first and since it is reversible you remove 2 screws on the opposite side as well and then the goalpost shaped front can pop off there. Then you remove the 2 things that hold down the top to the frame. Then you can remove the shrould. Then you can get the drum out. On the blower housing is a round fuse most likely it is blown. Their is another one just like it also near the blower. Check it as well. Clean her up and look for a loose blower wheel. That can cause the fuse to blow also. Now HERE IS YOUR SERVICE MANUAL. When did you say them cookies was gonna be ready? LOL

do you have 220v going to the dryer? the dryer will still turn and the light will come on if you only have 119v you must have 220v to get heat how long is the vent hose? too much vent hose can cause the heat to back-up causing therostats to blow stopping heat from working

Maytag dryer stopped working (model LDE9334ACE - electric). Dryer light DOES NOT work when door is open. Checked circuit breakers and that's fine.

Check your timer switch, that would cause you light not to work.
Also check the bulb, it may be burned out.
I hope this helps

Dryer won't come on at all, no panel lights

The same problem happened to me. The problem was caused by faulty wiring in the back of the machine accessible thorough a small panel.. Once the burnt wiring was reattached power could run to the panel, motor and heater.
