red lights on dehumidifiers almost always indicate a full water catch bucket , this does not allways mean it's actually full of water , the machine thinks it is , some thing has gone ary with the level sensor in bucket , these most times are a simple float switch, that can get knocked out of position when one is emptying the bucket , also this same float switch also allows machine to know there's a bucket in place to catch water , sometimes bucket is not in correct place to catch water so machine wont start

I was given a Westpointe dehumidifier. Worked great in basement, then stopped. Says full, but it is not. It is a 2103. Would it maybe be worth getting repaired or just buy a new one??

Grasping at straws here-Some give that error when the bucket that catches the water is not in place correctly, or pull out the bucket and look for the float that trips the full switch it should raise and lower with the water level and see if it's moving..yet others won't work with a clogged filter...

The dehumidifier does not shut off when the resevoir is full and therefore over flows.....how can I fix this

Turn the unit OFF and unplug it from the wall. Remove the bucket and empty any water that may be in it. Then, look at the top of the bucket for a float valve control. It slides from left to right, depending on whether you want it to shut off at half full or three quarters full. Slide the float left until it snaps for 3/4 full or all the way to the right until it snaps for 1/2 full. The bucket must be properly aligned for the float to work.

In your case, the float may have moved to the middle. Or the bucket is not squarely into it's holder, from top to bottom.

Troubleshooting the above should solve the problem.
