the swicth for the fan will work but the vacuum swicth wont work at all. When i give it power to the fan part their is a blinking red light inside the unit what does this mean.

Does the separator turn easily by hand? If it does, may be there is a problem with the carbon brushes. If this model is one that has the computor board mounted on top of the motor, there may be a problem with it.
