There is a blue line when plugged into laptop

I had the same problem. The projector works wonderfully connected to my iPhone (with an adapter), and connected to other kinds of laptops, but not with mine. Apparently the projector is not compatible with every laptop. I had to connect my projector to my laptop via a Netgear PTV1000 streaming player in order to use it.
You connect to the player wirelessly. Then use the HDMI cable to connect the player to the projector.

I happened to already have the player so I didn't have to purchase a new device. I hope this helps you.

I just bought a used canon realis sx60 with about 100 hour of use. I have connected this 1400x1050 projector to my laptop which has a resolution of 1280x800. My laptop only has a vga out. Yes I do know...

Try setting your PC resolution to a matching aspect ratio. In this case 1400 x 1050 = 4:3 and your PC resolution is 16:10. So something like 1024 x 768 on your PC *MIGHT* do the trick.
Otherwise try going through the menus on the projector to reset the display. Maybe the previous owner had specific settings for their environment. Details here: https://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/projectors/lcos_projectors/realis_sx60#BrochuresAndManuals

I have my G60 laptop connect to an LCD projector. I wanted to turn off the screen on the laptop and hit Function F4 which i have done in the past and it took the picture off of the LCD projector and now...

Disconnect the cable that is connecting the laptop to the projector. Sometimes this will happen if the projector or device you're connecting your laptop to does not support the current resolution that the laptop is displaying. Reconnect the cable and try using Function F4. If that does not work then disconnect the cable from laptop to projector, reboot the laptop then repeat connecting it to the projector and pressing Function F4.

Hi,
Usually the key combination is 'Fn' (function Key) + F4 (or which ever F key that displays the symbol of monitor on it). This key combination is used to toggle the display between monitors.
Please come back and vote for me if this turns to be helpful for you. Thnx

Need to get a torpedo projector to work with laptop

Unfortunately, there is no simple VGA-to-RCA adapter cable if you're connecting to a composite video input (usually colored yellow) or s-video input. VGA output is separate red, green and blue video and synchronizing signals, and they all need to be combined. You need a VGA-to-video converter to do this.

If the projector has component video input jacks, then you can buy a simple adapter cable.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

How to connect laptop to projector?

Data projectors have a video cable and you connect it to the 15pin blue video connector on the laptop. Then you power up the projector and then power up the laptop. The laptop should automatically dirvert the video information to the data projector.

If the image produced from the projector is not clear, then you will need to reduce the screen resolution on your laptop using Control Panel - Display - Settings.

Infocus projector 4805 connected to Toshiba laptop

1.
Connect the external display port on your laptop computer to the projection system, and then turn on the projector. For information about connecting external devices to your laptop, see the documentation for your laptop computer.
2.
Set the display resolution of your laptop computer to match the resolution of the projector system. First, on your laptop, open the Display Properties dialog box by using the Display icon in Control Panel, and click the Settings tab. Then, in Screen resolution area, move the slider to adjust the display resolution of your laptop. If you don't know which setting to choose, try 800 x 600 pixels; this is a common setting for many projector systems.

Gateway laptop 450ROG video issue when using a projector

Honestly from the information you have listed it sounds like the issue is with your projector, not your laptop. If your laptop was having display issues it would be consistent on anything it was attempting to output display to, such as your monitor.

The projector sounds like its out of focus and possibly has a bad back light in it, I would suggest contacting the manufacture for a possible resolution.
