Vertical Tilt on Screen & Occational Blue Spot

When watching wide-screen movies there is a vertical tilt of the image. This is also evident when anything is written on the top or bottom of the screen because there is a tilt in the words and some of it is cut off.

How do I fix the vertical til of the image?

Also, once in a while there is a blurred blue/green spot on the upper left location on the TV screen...this only happens during black/white movies occationally and sometimes during a darker scene. What should I do?

Thanks!

It appears that the image on the screen is zoomed in, but I can't figure out how to "undo" that. Thank you!

If the image on screen is zoomed both in vertical and horizontal direction, your TVs power regulator inside it is faulty. [Overvoltage]. If it is zoomed in vertical direction only, that is only the height of the picture is zoomed, you can adjust it with the remote control button directly on going through menu and get in to the function menu. Normally all TV remote has a special button marked as "Zoom" which on pressing it once the picture get zoomed, again another press the picture gets wide and again an another press picture will come to normal mode. You should select normal mode to retify the problem.

The screen tilts to the left

The coils on the yoke that control the CRT must have shifted in order for the display to be tilted. A rare thing. You will need to take it to a competant tech to realign the coils as there are magnets and shims that all work together to get the picture to come out right and it is tricky to do.

Screen Size is Too Big

There should be a vertical height adjustment control potentiometer near the vertical output IC on the right side of the PC board near the front section of the TV that can be adjusted to shrink the picture vertically. Be careful not to short anything out or getting yourself shocked in the process if you decide to try to adjust it yourself. Good luck. This chassis has also been known to have bad solder connections in that area also, so don't man-handle the printed circuit board roughly.

Half a screen

The picture on your TV screen is driven from the center to the top and bottom of the screen by the vertical drive circuit. The fact that you can see the entire picture means you have a problem called foldover. This is caused by a failure in the vertical drive circuit where the vertical saw signal is altered by a component failure within the vertical drive circuit. You cannot solve this problem but any good repair shop should be able to correct the problem at a reasonable cost.
