I have moved to new home. I am using 2wire wifi

I have moved to a new home. I am using 2wire wifi modem for the last 2 years. Now in this new house my 2wire modem is not working. It just get solid green light on power only after getting 3 other green light for few seconds. When I connect other ADSL modem (Non wifi), it works. Message comes on computer is ''network cable unplugged''. I called the my service provider and they say that modem is faulty. This can't be true as I tried with another brand new 2wire gateway modem but result was same.

I have a 2wire 397 modem router from att in line ,i want to add another 2wire modem router in line to a different room to hook up a samsung 3d blu ray to go on the internet

you cannot have 2 modem routers on the same line, if your current modem router has wifi, you might consider using a wifi repeater that will pick up the signal elsewhere and give you added lan ports. alternatively, you could just run a lan lead to where your samsung is and use a 5 port lan switch.

Hi, I have a 2Wire 270 DSl Modem I had bought through Qwest since they are my ISP. My home is a 1500 Sft Ranch, if the modem is in the bedroom and the Mac Book is in the family room down the hall the...

If the walls in your house are made of lathe and plaster or concrete block, then the performance of WiFi through all the walls in your house will be very bad. The signal that you are receiving from your neighbor's modem is probably only going through two walls (the outside wall of their house and the outside wall of your house), while the signal from your modem is probably going through at least 4 or 5 walls.
I suggest that you do not buy a new modem, but buy a wireless access point, a spool of CAT6 cable and two Leviton RJ45 wall jacks. Run the CAT6 cable from the modem to your bedroom, install the Leviton RJ45 jacks on both ends of the cable, and then connect the wireless access point to the the jack in the bedroom and the modem to the jack near to it.
This will expand the wireless coverage in your house and allow you to buy much better wireless device than QWest would ever sell to you.
Here is a suggestion for Wireless Access Point.
You can buy the CAT6 cable and Leviton RJ45 jacks at Home Depot or Lowes.

I have such a system running from the shed computer to the house computer and modem distance of 100 yards
it is called a TP-Link and is available fro Jaycar or like electronic shops

2wire Home Portal 1800HW

This 2-Wire Home Portal is a DSL modem. It can be used by itself as a wireless modem. It cannot be hooked up to an existing modem.
Go to this link and download the user manual:

My 2wire router will not connect to my nintendo ds wifi system.

The DSi only works with WEP encryption. The 2Wire and most other newer routers use WPA encryption.

Simply logon to your router with a web browser. The default IP for it is 10.1.1.138 but it might be different, just check the manual or internet for the IP. Go to "Home Network" then "Advanced Settings" and change the security from WPA to WEP and save.

Thats it!

Hope that helps.

Wow, that router is at least 4 years old. I have not seen a working 2wire 1000hw for about 2 years. I would purchase an aftermarket modem at best buy or off of ebay if you want to go cheap. I have worked for ATT for about 10 years. Hope this helps

Can a 1800HG gateway in my garage/workshop link *wirelessly* to my 2wire 2700 HG-B wifi AP internet in the house?

try going onto http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J30&THISPAGE=J29&NEXTPAGE=J30 on the computer connected to the 1800hg and set the router onto bridge mode (deselect enable routing). You might be able to set the two routers to connect then from here: http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=J09&THISPAGE=J30&NEXTPAGE=J09 or somewhere else in the MDC, not sure if it will work as I haven't tried it, but I hope it helps.
