There is a easy fix. Try going into your Tools Menu then Language. Go to Voice and make sure that one is selected. If it is you still dont here anything you should check the FM transmitter by clicking on the volume icon in the main screen. Make sure it is not enabled.

you can also do a reset. Turn the unit off. Hold you finger in the bottom right corner of the screen then turn the unit on. Keep your finger in the corner until you see a prompt asking if you want to erase all user data. It may take a few try's to get the reset right.

This Video is about the Zumo 660 but the language setup is the same.

I have a 800 watt ma audio i was loosening speaker clamps when one my kids turned tunes on and i touched amp with wrench causing a spark immediately shut car down but got a burnt smell. Protect light...

Afraid you may have blown an amplifier. If you have a AC voltmeter, audio generator and schematic, you can feed audio signal into unit and track the signal on both channels during amplification stages.and locate the spot where the amplification stops or one channel deviates from the other. And there is your culprit.

How do you fix the Display backlight which has stopped working on Sony CMT-CP33MD

The backlight is provided by a simple soldered-in incandescent bulb, mounted behind the display. You will need to disassemble the unit, unsolder the bulb, and replace it with a new one.

I have the receiver VSX-84TSXi with a Plasma Pro 110FD and a DSL cable box. This problem occurs intermittently (once a month or so) and I can usually power down the receiver to fix it. Can't seem to stop...

My guess is that this happens with one particular digital source - oh, right, the Cable Box.

Toggling between "Stereo" and "Dial Norm -3" is telling you the digital bitstream is dropping out and the unit is trying to default to the analog feed, which may not even be there.

Bottom line, call your Cable Provider and tell them they have a problem. Detail exact times it happens because they should have a way of querying the Box's logs for errors.

If the audio is coming in via optical cable make sure it has easy-flowing loose bends in its routing as tight bends induce signal losses.

How do I get tv audio to play on the home theater system

This HTS isn't really designed to be a versatile processing center for external sources.

My advice is to treat TV-related audio as any other audio component. First, its best source will be the first device that processes it - cable box, sat box, gamebox, BD etc.

I'd also bypass this unit's video connections for those video sources and run them directly to your TV or monitor. The best unit for each function (audio or video) should get the best source directly.

Get the best-quality digital audio that unit will provide and run it into the HTS. This HTS has one optical (TOSLINK) digital input, so THAT would be where the best digital audio would enter it. Hopefully, your source uses optical audio output. Otherwise... analog audio is limited to stereo or derived Dolby Surround.

Where to send a onkyo sterio to get it fixed

If you don't have a local service shop, then please post your general location here so we can provide guidance. Typically any TV service shop will either service the unit directly or deal with someone that can service audio equipment. We will be happy to provide a reference once your location is known.

Marantz SR7500 headphone jack stopped working

There is a contact inside the jack that is closed when the plug is inserted. Apparently this is no longer happening. This should be an easy repair for a qualified technician.

Directionals stopped working

If you have no turn signal operation check the turn signal flasher unit. More often than mot this will be the problem. Your emergency flashers operate on another circuit with another flasher unit. The flasher units are very cheap to purchase and easy to gain access too.

Clicking sound in tape deck

All Aiwas  are prone to this problem.  The doors are a real pain and easily give up the ghost.  I have 2, both probmatic in this direction.
I have spoken to others about this problem. Seems no easy fix.
Have you in your case, tried leaving and old tape in the tape part of your  unit . The noise you hear, usually starts when tape unit area doors are about to pack a wobbly. Unless under warrenty, proberly,
not worth getting fixed.    It seems something gets weak in the activation part and get a mind of its own.  Very common after about 3 yrs of ownership.  All the best: jamz
