Question about Envision EN-7100e 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Input not supported

I had taken my tower to the repair shop and when I brought it home and reconnected it to my Envision 7100s monitor all I am getting is a box on the screen (similar to screen saver) which says 'Input not supported' I have tried restarting the computer but that is about all I can do.

The repair shop set the PC video resolution to higher resolution to use with their monitor and did not put it back to the same resolution for your monitor which cannot handle the higher resolution. You need to lower the PC video resolution to the native reslution of your monitor which is 1280 x 1024 @60 Hz.

I have an Envision EN 7100s monitor. It works just fine when I run the computer in safe mode, but when I try to start the computer normally the screen will go blank after the microsoft logo and say "Input...

Doesn't really sound like the monitor is the cause. The video driver sounds like it might be failing on load. You can try starting in safe mode, open device manager and remove the video card from the hardware list (You can also do this with add and remove hardware in the control panel of XP). Restart and let windows install fresh drivers on start up. This may help if the driver installation has been corrupted. Note that you will need the original driver disk if you want the extended options of your video card, otherwise windows will install the generic windows driver which in some cases is no different from the factory driver.

Hope this helps,
Gill

GReen flashing light and the monitor will not come on???

Please verify that it does the same with other PC.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Envision monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Have a hewitt packard computer, want to add on envision monitor 7100s The system is not accepting monitor. what do I do?

To reinerate,do you have the driver for it? I am sure that  the old monitor was made by HP for your HP computer.
Go to the Envision website and download the LCD driver and install same.    Link provided below:

My Envision EN 7100s

OK this unit more than likely has a Power Supply failure, Usually the Electrolytic Capacitors in and around the Power Stage. They Dry out and go faulty.. and cause this type of problem.
