Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

When I start up my computer, the power button on the monitor just blinks off and on. This is a new problem within the past couple of days. Eventually the system activates, but it takes awhile. The computer is not programmed to hibernate, and the screensaver time has been increased from 15 minutes to 4 hours before it activates .I have run the virus programs, and no threats found. Moving the mouse around, nor hitting any keyboard keys will activate the monitor. Any ideas what it could be??

It might have something to do with the cable from your monitor to the tower just make sure that you have the cables pushed in correctly and that they are not frayed or they may have to be replaced

My HP W1907 monitor works fine until I try to play The Sims 3 game. I play for several minutes or hours and the monitor shows the message that it is going to sleep and the light on the monitor goes...

Hi there. I had the same problem months ago when I try to play high end games like Sims 3 my monitor goes into power saving mode. I tried to check every possible causes of the problem. It could be that your computer is overheating try to clean your computer and check if your fans still works. Second it could me your power supply malfunctioning, maybe it does not meet the required power to make your game work. Last cause is your video card malfunctioning, what I did is to just buy a new video card and it works.
If you do not have spare power supply or video card you can go to a computer repair shop for them to check the possible problem that causes it to go into power saving mode. It can also save you money before you can buy a new one.
Hope this helps, Have a good day!

My Samsung monitor 244T blinked several times and went black. A few days later I rebooted my computer and it blinked twice and went black. Now power light doesn't even go on. Help!

1).check your monitor cable and power cable.search google for how to check if you do not know...
2).change your RAM into another slot and check if u have 2 RAM interchange it and check..i prefer this must be the RAM problem..
normally when u insert any new RAM..sometimes it does not matches.. in this way the blinking can be happened...
3).disconnect all the cables of CD drive and DVD drive and any other except harddisk cables...and start the system with harddisk and without connecting the CD and DVD drive..
4).clean your processor cooling fan..search google for cleaning cooling fan..this makes the processor to reduce heat or apply cool paste to processor..

Monitor : no display and blue led light is blinking

The power supply is the first thing that the 110v electric line goes into. The invertor is the next item past the power supply, or sometimes contained within it. I do not thing monitors are a DIY repair.      First substitute a different monitor to confirm that it is, in deed , the monitor and not the video card.

Green Power light blinking

Check the resolution in the Windows while connected to the old monitor. If greater than 1280 X 1024 and/or the refresh rate exceeds 75 Hz, the monitor may not respond. But you should at least see the BIOS splash when the computer is turned on. If that does not appear, maybe a problem has occurred in the monitor. Another indicator: if you turn the monitor power button off and then back on, you should get some sign of life such as "no signal", or "out of range". If nothing appears, that would indicate some problem within the monitor.

If you find my suggestions to be helpful, please share with us some details so that others may benefit from knowing the whole story. Thank you!

Monitor went black

Same with mine a couple days ago. I've been told the contacts have oxidized and need to be cleaned. It was going to cost about $80 to fix and no guarantee how long it would last so I just bought a new monitor.
