Question about Chi Mei Corporation DTC-32Mk Television

1 Answer

Only the on function works with remote or key controller

I have a Chimei model DTC32MK. I can turn on the tv but no other functions work, not even the off function. Screen is on but blank, no way to change the input. I have replaced the remote and the IR sensor Board. I was going to change the key controller board but it was out of stock. I have looked at the power supply and none of the capacitors are leaking or bulging. Ant suggestions?

    To budmrtn,
I checked voltagesfrom power supply, all are good. The backlight is what is turning on. Does this suggest a bad inverter board or a bad logic board?

You are saying the screen is on but blank. Do mean that if you look at the screen in darkened room you can see slight glow on the front of the screen, if that is the case, you need to look at the T-CON board to see if it is getting the 12vdc feeding it from the main logic board and also check to see if it has blown fuses on the T-CON board.

You may have two problem. the backlight inverter and the main logic board, try dosconnecting the power to the backlight inverter board, the TV should turn on and off and have all the control working without the inverter board, inverter board is for backlight function only. If you still can bot use the any controls buttons on the TV then more likely the logic board is bad.

How to get this remote control to turn the 2004 Sylvania TV on/off

There is a fault with the remote control and it is not worth trying to fix it and not worth replacing the stock remote control unit even if the manufacturer could still supply one for that TV.

The best option is to just buy a very basic generic remote control (quite inexpensive) from an electronics store which will work with many TVs and use that remote to turn the TV on and off. Use your stock remote for all other functions if it is still working well on those functions.

I had a friend with the exact same problem with her stock remote a while back. I purchased a simple generic remote control on special for around $20 which she now uses to turn the TV on and off. .

Program my symphonic tv

Here are the steps on how you will program your remote control to your Symphonic TV

1. Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control.
2. Press and hold the TV key. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns on and remains on. If you release the component key at any time during the Direct Code Entry procedure, the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks four times, and the process is exited.
4. While holding down the TV key, consult the list for the four-digit code that corresponds to your TV and use the number keys
(0-9) on the keypad to enter it. While you are pressing the
numbers, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns off.
5. After the fourth number is entered, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns on. At this time, release the TV key. If the illuminated ON•OFF key turns off, you have entered a valid code and have followed the correct
procedure for Direct Code Entry. If the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks
four times when the component key is released. This is an indication that a programming error has occurred. In that case, repeat the process from step 2. TIP: Throughout the programming of each key, be sure to keep the remote pointed at the IR sensor of the component you are currently programming the remote to control.
6. To confirm that the TV key is programmed with the correct
code for maximum functionality, test the TV. Attempt to
control a variety of the TV’s functions with the remote. If some of the features of your TV do not work, try programming the remote with a
different code in the list until you find the code that allows the remote to control the majority of your TV’s functions. Different codes can provide
different levels of functionality.
7. Remember to enter the code for future reference.

The codes for Symphonic TV are as follows:

1026, 1033, 1038, 1046, 1155, 1189

Need tv code fot broksonic tv

from "Wiki.Answers.com":
This is what worked for me:
Manual Code Search and Entry
1. Manually turn on the TV
2. Press and hold the TV button The illuminated ON•OFF key turns on and remains on.
3. While holding the component key down, press and hold the ON•OFF key. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns off.
4. After holding down both keys for three seconds, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns back on.
5. Release both keys. The illuminated ON•OFF key remains on. TIP: Throughout the programming of each key, be sure to keep the remote pointed at the IR sensor of the component you are currently programming the remote to control.
6. Press and release the ON•OFF key repeatedly until your component turns off. Each time you press the ON•OFF key, the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks, and the next
code in the list is sent. This process continues until all of the codes in the Code Lists have been searched. If your component turns off, you have found the correct code.
TIP: Because there are so many codes, you may have to press the ON•OFF key many times-possibly up to 200 times.
7. Once you have found the correct code, you must save the new code by pressing and releasing the STOP key. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns off. You must press the STOP key to save the code or the correct code will not be stored!
8. To confirm that the component key is programmed with the correct code for maximum functionality, test the component. Attempt to control a variety of the component's functions with the remote. If some of the features of your components do not work, try programming the remote with a different code in the list until you find the code that allows the remote to control the majority of your component's functions. Different codes can provide different levels of functionality.

Lost remote control functions

Hi, The remote lost the code and needs reprogrammed, there are 8 code choices for a sanyo tv. Manually turn on the tv. On the remote, press the code search key till it lights, press the tv key, it will blink then stay lit. Aim the remote at the tv, keep it pointed at the tv and press the on/off key ONCE. When the tv turns off press enter. If you wait more than 3 seconds it will scan to the next code. So if you try it the first time and not all of the functions work correctly is when you would let it scan to the next one. Good Luck! Please rate my response.
