Question about Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5881 Notebook
I have a Toshiba Satellite L305D which works perfectly except that the touchpad will freeze up for no reason and nothing I can do will fix it. I tried to reboot the computer once also and while it worked for a while, mouse eventualy froze up again.
Any type of help would be greatly appriecitated
It is possibly an error with the driver. To check, go to Control Panel and then the Device Manager. Look for the section labeled "Mice and other pointing devices" and look for "Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad" or anything which has TouchPad in the title. If it has a weird yellow triangle with an exclamation point, there may be a driver problem. Double click on the device, choose the Driver tab at the top and choose to Update Driver. Choose to automatically search and hopefully you should find, then install, the driver.
Have you recently run any Windows updates? If so, that may have messed up the driver. Instead of choosing to update the driver, choose to roll it back instead.
My solution is only for a bad driver. I hope this helps you and apologize if it does not.
